Do you do anything for Charity or to help the less fortunate? Do you donate gifts? Raise money? Make a hamper? If you do what things do you do?
I make a hamper along with my class to give to poor families and the elderly that live alone.
I go bagpacking around various supermarkets to raise money for thirdworld countries.
I donate some items such as old toys to charity shops to selland also to organisations that give them to children.
I'm also thinking of donating a gift with Trocaire to the thirdworld this year.
So what do you do or thinking of doing?

Especially around the holidays I like to do as much as I can to for charities. It really all started when I was a little girl. My parents taught us that the true meaning of Christmas is about giving. I know there may be some people that would dispute that fact, but I really think they were right in that in that the three wisemen did bring gifts to the baby Jesus.
So, yes, as the holidays come around I do as much as I possibly can to help those that are less fortunate than myself. I will drop change in the Salvation Army kettles and I will donate my time to the local food bank and I'll help my children go through their old toys to choose some to donate to charities as well.
If I had the ability to do so this year I would also adopt a family for Christmas, but this year that just isn't feasible for us.

Christmas is a big date in western country, but here seldom people will celebrate except those who learn the western culture. In my campus, we learn English and surely will celebrate the Christmas among our classmate. After graduation, I am rarely feeling the Christmas atmosphere here. Every festivals will have their significance and so does Christmas. I know for that first time that the true meaning of Christmas is bout giving as my teacher never advised me about that. I think most of the people can not get the true meaning of giving. It is really great that you can have a date to learn how to care others through giving or donating to charities. It is a good way to show the blessing of God.

Yes. I donate to charity every December. I also usually personally go to where I am donating stuff during December too. I like going to children orphanages. It is more enjoyable watching the kids light up when they are given something. I usually hand out toys, food, and drinks to them. I buy these myself, with my own money. It makes everything worth it when I see their happy smiles. :)

I do not celebrate Christmas. On the other hand, I do raise funds for various non profit organizations all year long - no matter if it is Christmas or whatever. Online fund raising is fun and even profitable :)
Besides, I used to volunteer as a private teacher for drop out students, and help them finish high school, which was very satisfying. I hope one day I'll get the time for that again.

I always donate to the toys for tots drive. I also donate money to the Salvation Army. This year my husband and I donate to the Shop with a Cop organization which allows underprivilege kids to shop for their family members this Christmas.
I love the way that you participate in so many charities to help others. Best of luck to you.

yes.. but not on occasions but whenever we find the necessity to help.. myself and my friends share some amount to do those activities.. we especially spend money for very poor children health expenses.. there were few cases where kids have to undergo heart operations.. and we are planning to do that in a big way but due to insufficient funds we are not able to make it to the level we wanted to do.. hope god shows me a way for that.. and about your work.. its wonderful and keep doing it.

I do not do anything. Christmas is about love, and all my love I give to my friends and family. Sorry, but that is my attitude. I guess my parents gives some money to charity for mistreated animals.. does that count for me? I am fifteen years old. Myabe I will give a streetmuscisian like some money because of this topic :)
