Watching people passing by?

Good evening mylotters :)
Today I was waiting in a while for the bus, in the middle of the city, and I started to watch the people passing by. They were all so busy, but I still got a chance to see each one of them and consider their identity.
Do you ever do this? Do you think it is spying? How would you feel if someone did it to you?
and please come with some funny examples :)

Its observing, not spying. Trying to kill those time or to make you fell busy during traffic. I always do it while riding on the way and from work. But I have learned that killing time is much easier and much faster if I would write articles for my other site. In the case, I can make that idle time of mine to be productive.
