there are alot of people that keep money in their house all year around are you one of those people or do you prefer to put your money in the bank as you know it can not be stolen.I like mine to be in my bank as that way i do not have to worry about it as well as whilst it is there it is earning interest.

I prefer to keep my money in a bank coz it would get some interest on it."some thing is better than nothing".I normally use my debit card for any purchases but i am more on the saving side rather than a lavish spender.gud day.

My sister kept money at home before, and it was lost. She keeps on pointing her finger on my mother because she was the one who kept it, but unfortunately when they check on the money on that place there was no money at all only the white short envelope where the money was covered. She blame my father too and then the arguments started. I learned a lesson from her so since then I keep my money on the bank. I withdraw the amount I am needed to spend and I keep a percentage of my salary in my bank account. I know it is much safer in the bank and hopefully the bank will not be a victim of robbery, that would be the worst scenario.

I'm on Disability and get 2 checks each month from the government. I have Direct Deposit and each month when I go to the bank I take the majority out to pay my rent and all my bills. I pay by money order because with the little that I get each month I can't afford both a savings account and a checking account. Anyway, I leave in about $60 each month and it's building up little by little. Any money that I have leftover from paying my rent and bills I put in a folder. I also save my change all the time in a couple of large plastic juice jugs.
Think about it, though. With the lack of interest the banks pay nowadays it really isn't worth putting your money in the bank anymore! Seriously! Of course, there are other reasons for keeping money in a bank, but, what really burns me is when they charge you for every little activity you do. They charge if you visit the bank more than twice a month and they charge you when you call the bank to get an update on your balance. It's so crazy!
I'm hearing that credit unions are the way to go because they pay more in monthly interest toward your money and they don't charge you for every little activity you do inside the bank.

I don't think that you can win either way really! It's unsafe to keep your money in the house as you could be burgled at anytime and all your savings would be gone. You can keep your money in a bank and they make the promise to look after your money for you but due to the climate there have been several banks that have closed their doors or have gone out of business and so the customers lose out. I think that keeping money in a bank is the safest option, I suppose there are risks as with anything. The good thing about keeping your money in a bank is the fact that you earn interest as you have mentioned and this can only be a good thing. Andrew

Hi. I prefer to keep money in my bank accounts. This way, I would not be tempted to spend, spend and spend. Sometimes, it's really tempting when you have easy access to your cash.
I also keep cash around the house but only enough for a week budget. I don't like the hassle of withdrawing from ATMs several times in a week. Frequent cash withdrawals from ATMs normally have extra charges.

I keep a "mailbox bank" full of change in the house, and it's full of change that we roll, when it fills up. The rest of the money that isn't in our wallets, or in "mailbox" goes into the bank. We're not worried about break-ins here, but what if the building were to catch on fire? Then the money would be gone. That's why we keep it in the bank.

I prefer to keep my money in the bank for safety and also we can get some small interests if we keep it there. I keep a small amount of money for daily expense.

I think that there are alot of people out there more so now than ever before that are trying to survive no matter what it takes which do include breaking in to other peoples houses, which there has been alot of that just latly what with Christmas as well,so we put our money in our safe or in the bank.

I don't keep my money at home. I think it's dangerous to do so. It might get stolen. I don't suspect my family, but we often hire maids, and it takes time to get to know a maid before I can trust her. The most recent one tried to steal things before leaving. But even if I don't leave my money at home I still lock my room when I leave the house.

As for our family, we keep a very small amount of money in the house at any given time. Perhaps 20-50 dollars is all that we will ever have at the house and the majority of that is in the form of change. We prefer to keep our money in the bank where it draws a small amount of interest and it is safe from anyone stealing it. We typically use our debit cards for almost all of our purchases and if we need cash and it isn't on hand at that moment, then we will make a purchase and get cash back.

I won't keep huge amount of money in house.Just investing in the business is a good practice to multiply money. At the least invest in gold or some long term bank deposits.Keeping money idle at home is really wasting money. But we should not forget to have some liquid money for emergencies.

Again, I'm like you my money is in the bank and I only use a debit card when shopping. It saves me alot of money I think. If I had money on me I believe I would spend more. This way using a debt card I watch more so and its just easier to deal with. I don't have to worry about money being stolen from my house or from my pocketbook when shopping.

I keep some money sometimes in my purse. Most of the money I put in the bank and then before I know it is just about all gone by paying all of the bills and buying groceries.

With banks failing as quickly as the monies they handle in this whacked out economy, what's the point? There's as much chance of losing it all if kept in a 'secure' place as in an unsecure one..Besides the fact that there's rarely enough to sit still longer than the next bill..So, no, I don't keeps my money in the bank, but there's never a lot of money in the house either..Enjoy!

Hi jugjugs,Yes,i belong to those people who keep money in my room.I don't have much money to deposit in the bank.My money is good only for our family needs.Any way i also save an amount for our immidiate needs in my own way,it's not because i dont rely in the bank but the reason is i don't have extra money to deposit in the bank. Good only for our weekly budget. Thanks,Have a nice day!
