How do you stay healthy during the flu season.

Do you have an easy, reasonable, unusual, or even ridiculous way of dodging the much talk about flu season? I wash my hands more frequently and keep a small bottle of sanitizer in my bag, but I'm not quite germ-phobic enough to refuse hugs and to shake hands with healthy people. I do eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water. So far so good. How about you?

Since flu is caused by virus, i guess the best way to stay healthy is to maintain our self immunity. Washing hands after doing activities, eating more fruits and vegetables might work. Also, i usually try to sleep more and avoid too much activities (doesn't mean being lazy, just make a priority) when someone surround got ill.

Thanks for responding. About the sanitizer and wipes, the hospital have it in every corner now. They even have one in front of the elevator and I can understand. The grocery stores also provide wipes for the cart handle but only saw two who actually use it. I think common sense like washing the apples is still the best. Sometimes I worry what all this germ/virus dodging stuff are doing to our immune system . And to the .01 microorganism that survive, is it the making of another Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)?

I would say I take reasonable measures. I wash my hands regularly (have to anyway working in a medical office) and avoid sick family members as best I can. I keep hand sanitizer around and some lysol wipes at my desk for a once over at the end of the day.
