Any tips on keeping glass surfaces dust free longer?

Everytime I wipe the glass surfaces with water, I notice that they dont stay dust free as long as compared to when the professionals come and clean the same places! I wouldnt want to end up buying the chemicals these professionals are using (in case they are expensive or something). How would you normally deal with a similar situation?
