I have not made up my mind what to do.I want to be at home to see the New year in as i have children and it is alot easier to do that as well as less to worry about.I may not even bother to have any friends round either and just see the new year in with the partner.

We will be at home. We don't have any child care. The IL's used to watch the kids before they got sick, they also don't believe in drinking holidays either...

Nope our usual excuse for not attending functions is the kids. Like school has some free events to go to & even some child care.... but my lil guy goes to bed like 7pm and is glued to me.. so then what KWIM? So we don't bother & a friend of mine doesn't understand as her kids stay up late like 10pm and they all sleep in til like noon soooo...... homeward bound for us even on those little things. Plus lack of money for events they charge a fee for.

At least you know you are going to get a quiet night as well as relax with the tv on knowing that your child is going to be in bed and getting the sleep.

Hi, jugsjugs. Well I was thinking about this just the other day. And I have decided that I may just stay home too. I might just watch a movie and order some take out food. Every year, I usually will go to church for Watch Night Service. But, I am thinking hard about If I really want to go this year or not. If I don't go, I will be right at home.

No matter where we are we see the fireworks as well as hear them until 2am and then we hear all the arguments as well as all the drunks coming past our house on their way home.

I will not be going anywhere for New Year's Eve. I have social anxiety and I don't do well in crowds. I may have a drink or two and just enjoy $ick and that other guy. I recall my aunt getting drunk one year and crying over Guy Lombardo. It was sad but cute and we laughed until we were sick.

Same as last year - I'll be going to bed around 10.00pm as I have to get up for work at 5.30am on New Years Day.

Oh you must think of all that extra money you will be getting having to work on new years day.

I'm working Christmas Day too. It will be 'time & two-thirds' ... but,to be fair, two-thirds of not very much isn't exactly life-changing

I worked one year and the boss left us a drink knowing we had to drive home so we took the glass as well,it was one of the posh glasses i still have it here and i stopped working for him 5 years ago, lol. The pay was rubbish but they needed people so my name was picked out.No you are right it is not alot of money.

I usually do stay at home on New Years Eve. I always work very early (5 am) that day and to be honest, most of the time I am fast asleep by the time the clock strikes midnight. But, this year, I already have plans. My friend are throwing a party and already invited me. It's been a long time since I have gone to a New Year's eve party, so it should be fun. it looks like I'll just have to come home from work and take a nap so I can stay awake until midnight!

I think we will stay at home this year as i am in soo much pain with my feet that i can not put up with standing all night as every where will be soo busy as well as there are always fights on new years eve.At least i will not have the added worry of getting home.

Usually we are just at home waiting for 12 midnight. When the clock strikes 12, everyone will have their own way of welcoming the new year. Usually we have fireworks, those that are not dangerous. After that, my family gathers around the table and eat our midnight dinner.

We either tend to go out to a pub or we stay at home and have a few friends round where as we always used to have lots of people come round ours for a party, but there was a lot to clean up the next day or even on the same night. We are staying in this year and having a few friends around as that way we do not have to worry about getting home.

We will not be going out on New Years Eve. It is just too risky. We work seven days a week alos and it is just too hard on us to plan to go out. We work nights also so we will be working.

Oh thats a shame, but there is the bonus of knowing that you will have a good pay packet at the end of the day as well as missing all the fights that go on.

We usually stay home. I would rather not get in the middle of a bunch of drinkers on a holiday. Some of the hotels have deals where you can go to a party at their banquet room and then spend the night in the hotel. It is nice but too expensive for me.

I think that there are alot of places that charge alot of money to be able to go to places,i would much rather stay in and have a few friends i know around as it is a nice time as well as i do not have to worry about the children wanting me.Just like you i tend to not like people that have had too much to drink as then there are fights that tend to break out.

We will be staying very close to home if not at home itself. My Fiance and I have chosen a new tradition to make a nice candle lit meal and spend it together. We do go out for about an hour or 2 to visit the open houses in the neighborhood, all within walking distance and then come home to ring in the New Year together. We have made New Year's Eve a very special night for us and enjoy it immensley.

We actually have a family tradition on New Years Eve of going out to eat at a nicer restaurant and then after that we go home (or what once was, my mother's house) and we will have a few drinks there and we will also watch the count down to the new year while we play board games and just spend time together. This has always been a very fun thing for us and I suspect that it is a tradition that will continue on in our family for a long time into the future.

I highly doubt we will be going anywhere on New Year's Eve! We have an almost 5 year old and a newborn . . . so I'm sure it's going to be like any other night for us - ha ha. I don't know . . . maybe we'll have something special for dinner, but that's about it. But, we're perfectly happy with a quiet night in!

I think that if you have children i think it is easier to stay in rather than looking for a baby sitter.I have 6 children and one of them has adhd and his medication is not working so i will be staying at home and having a few friends pop in for a drink as that is alot easier.

If I have to work, I will, otherwise, my daughter has a friend stay over, my sister will come over, we will play poker for pennies, have a fire in the fire pit and make appetizers. I have only gone out once on New years eve, I was pregnant and so I was the designated driver. It really wasnt that thrilling. Now I just keep my but home!

I feel sorry for you having to work, but think of the extra money without the hang over is what i say.I think we are staying in as it is soo much easier than going out as then you do not have a problem in getting home if there is a problem with the children.

I am not sure yet! If we do go somewhere, it will most likely just be out to dinner and maybe a movie. I think our church is planning a lock in for the kids, so we may be there helping with that. We're also getting ready to move, to a house that doesn't have a lot of stairs. My apartment is upstairs and it's difficult now that I'm using a walker all the time

I am happy to stay in with the husband and the children as this year we have family that are ill and we may be needed so i think it would be wise to stay at home just incase. If friends want to pop in then they can.

I think I'll be at home. I haven't been to a New Years party in a long time, before I had kids and that's been 9 years. I do try to kiss my girl on New Years, even if I have to send a text. Having friends over is fun because they have to leave and you can stay. Happy New Year (early).

I will be staying at home with my husband. We watch Mr. Clark's Rockin' Eve then at midnight we open a bottle of sparkling cider and toast to the New Year. We end up staying up really late and watch movies. If we are in the mood we will start putting our Christmas stuff away.
