There is always that debate over PC and Mac computers. I'm here to ask which side you stand with, PC or Mac? I for one am a PC. Macs are just expensive and a bit overrated. PC costs less, and yes they do get viruses but only because many people don't have a good anti-virus. I have a really good one so it'll prove wrong with the rumor saying all PCs get viruses and Macs don't. Newsflash: Macs get them too. So tell us, are you a PC or Mac, and please explain why.

Im a Mac all the way now. They're simpler, easier to use, look better, mine's never crashed once, get next to no viruses at all. Comes with a load of software already built in, better for music, no need to buy anti-virus. The only reason they aren't as popular as PC is because they're more expensive, even after the MASSIVE student discounts you can get on them. and because they're more expensive, less people have them, so companies decide it is better for them to make most of their software PC compatible as opposed to mac. and judging by windows 7, Microsoft are trying to be more and more like mac anyways, because they're awesome :D

If you are a newbie with computers, I would suggest to use the Mac. But if you are a kinda experience with computers, then PC would be better for you.
Mac pros and cons:
Pros: Easy to use, great look.
Cons: Quite Expensive, Fewer Warez to work around with.
PC pros and cons:
Pros: Cheaper, Compatibility Friendly with Hardwares and Softwares.
Cons: So many brands to choose from.

For more than 10 years using Windowed PC yep still not good in PC. But I learned a lot using PC of course. And they are not really good at all. Windows 7 is still the good old Windows Systems that trying to imitate Linux or Mac OS X. There's nothing really new about Windows 7 at all.
Excuse me po. Respect for what? Opinions? Then why don't you respect mine? I'm just saying some facts that you just hardly to accept truths and corrections. Truth really hurts. Please don't off topic this pretty nice discussion of l4dgeneraldefence because someone had hurt your personal feelings so very badly. My opinions maybe hard, strong and hurting but I'm still a friendly, kind and nice creature. You got to be thick-skinned here buddy.
If you ever still stating those personal feelings of yours, I'll just stop responding or replying you for this discussion. Because it will be just worthless at all and just an absolute waste of our precious time. Be always a professional and not always your personal.
Thanks and Enjoy! myLot!

To gjabaigar, I'm sorry, was I trying to amuse you? I do have 2 macs, or should I say maybe you don't know how to use your PC. How bout you post a poll on who have more warez to work with, PC or MAC? I just hope you will laugh the last after the poll for your ignorance. You insulted first, I do hope just returning the favor!

Howdy techgurl!
Mac OS X is the easiest way to learn computers as long as you can read and with just the a little bit use of simple common sense. And done or get what you really wants to have seamlessly.
Yep Linux is easy to use but it is not so easy to setup or to install. You have to research the logic solutions on the web. And/or copy and paste scripts and command lines, just to have you want to have on Linux. Beside Linux is an imitations of Unix, which Mac OS X is base on Unix. Whether Linux has so many different kinds of distros or flavors Linux is still like Unix.
Thanks and Enjoy myLot!

I'm a... Linux!
I've been struggling between Mac and PC for quite some time. Both of them have some plus and cons but the most important that they share is the way they are distributed: it's a vertical sharing. This means that, no matter if you are a Mac or a PC, you paid a team to build the OS you are working on for you, and there is no chance to change this fact.
I'd rather think that my operative system is based on an horizontal sharing. All of the Linux-based distribution are developed by a vivid and energetic community, that anyone can potentially join. This means a lot of good things to me.
For instance, a billion eyes looking for bugs and mistakes that can report them or better fix them: the result is that a bug or a system error si patched within days or hours.
Or a real virus-free environment, as anyone who contributes also can scan other's work and identify any malicious code. It never ever happened to me to get through any virus-related problem since I'm running Linux.
On the other hand, Linux is yet far to be perfect. Compatibility with all software and hardware is not guaranteed and, yes, it is far far better if you actually have some clue about your system and how to fix at least the minor issues. But a lot is moving and improving. Ubuntu distributions are as user-friendly and reliable as Windows and Mac, and more and more GNU projects are making life easier to the one who choose Linux.
Hence, given that no one yet reached perfection. I choose to be a Linux; probably it is just "the third way" but is by far the one I prefer!
Oh... did I mention that Linux and nearly all it's related projects are totally free? I believe this too is quite relevant :-)
Hope it helps the discussion... take care!

I'm also a pc person. In my opinion macs are also good, but the cost is prohibitive and you don't easily get softwares for it. Whereas in the case of PCs, you can get all sorts of softwares, games etc,etc and the cost is also customisable, as you can built your own machine within your budget. As for viruses, as you said, all one needs to do is buy a good anti virus and you're all set to go:)

The high school I used to go to had Mac computers, and yes, I have seen quite a few of them crash, it is bad, and they could no just reboot them up, they had to actually send them back to the company, or they had to call in a Mac Specialist to have them fixed. It was horrible. Also, with Macs, there are certain things that you cannot do on Macs, but you can do those task on a PC. I have used Macs and PCs, and I love PCs way more than I love Macs.

Howdy l4dgeneraldefence!
I'm an apple mac fanboy since the 80's. Unfortunately I regrets that I used Window PC on the 90's until 2006.
And now I'm using again an Apple Mac (20" Intel Core 2 Duo iMac). I'm not a programmer or an engineer. I'm just user. Surfing the internet. Listening to music, watch some movies and playing games are just a bonus for consuming free time. I also doing some movies editing and graphics design and other works. And most especially the lifestyle outside the windows for scanning sunshine rays and glowing smiling face of my friends. Instead of busy the whole day or weeks my life on doing scanning the hard disk for virus, malware, corrupted files etc.
I can't understand why people saying that Apple Macs are expensive and not worth buying for because the lack of or fewer applications and hardware compatibilities. How can they said that if they have not yet use an Apple Mac. They are totally don't know what they are saying.
Apple Macs are integrations of applications, hardwares, lifestyle and human users productivities. On Windows PC or Linux you can't have them all. As an advance or beginner computer users.
For those who are dreaming for using the best computer system. Apple Macs are the best computer can dream of. Best OS, best applications, best hardwares. What been looking for a computer systems is on Apple Macs. The OTHERS they just follow.
Just think about lifestyle and productivity from today until the next 3 to 5 to 10 years. With just some simple inputs of ideas but powerful outputs.
Thanks and Enjoy! myLot!

I'm a PC user ever since it was developed from the oldest then now Vista. One thing that I like about it is that, it is so flexible, can be used with so many programs and software. I agree with some that MAC is way too expensive. You can actually have a "super" computer with the money you will spend with a MAC.

I'm definitely a pc guy. I couldn't understand why Macs cost so much. I do know technically under the hood they perform better, but with a pc you could achieve a lot more when bought with the same price as a mac. I love my pc because I can upgrade them as I see fit, without having to burn a hole in my wallet. Plus I can game more on the pc with its huge library of great games, compared to mac that usually get cheap and simple games only (I do know that there's some AAA titles ported to the Mac, so you don't have to shove it in my face). Plus I get to choose more different OS's, namely Windows and Linux.

Well I did read somewhere they say that Macs cost more than a regular pc is because Apple has to get back from their expensive r&d, and there are less people who bought Mac compared to pc. I think that if they receive more consumer support, they will definitely lower their pricing. Btw, can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2! I don't own a ps3 or an xbox360 :(, so 2010 couldn't come faster :)

Hi, i'm new here..^^
I'm a PC user. Why?
Because i'm a gamer and Macs haven't been able to give me pleasure to play
games like i play with PC. In addition, of course because the price is too expensive for me. But someday i want to buy a macbook(really like the interfaces:p)

i stand for the pc side because of the following reasons-
1- mac is too expensive for a student like me
2- i find mac totally non customizable..im not talking about looks..im talking about customizing the whole OS, like increasing the performance, adding better addons and softwares to it etc
3-Softwares are not available for mac and if they do, they have a high price tag on them.
4- I cant enjoy games with a mac. windows lets me enjoy games from every genre with full galore
5- mac is hard and expensive to upgrade, pc is not
6-when there is something wrong with my pc, i can get my neighbors help, but in case of mac, i have to take it to a qualified technician

I am a PC and I am amazing! Based on the commercials though, MAC is definitely hotter. I run vista on both the desktop and the laptop and I used to use it primarily for gaming. Now it's mostly non-gaming, but still memory intensive.
I have never owned a Mac, although I've USED one. I don't really see what the big deal is. Some functions are easier on a Mac, but I'm so used to a PC. I don't particularly care either way, which really ticks off the people who do lol.
Every platform has problems. Every platform has benefits.

I have always been a PC user. I personally think that Mac is like the expensive 'freestyle' computer. I have always been using a PC and I think i'll stay that way just because from what i have seen, about 70 % of games and software are created for Pc only. The funny things is that as the Operating System goes, Linux and Windows are completly different. I have never thought about trying a Mac because i most definitely think that i would get confused when running the system.
