What do you think of locks and other security systems?

We can find locks almost everywhere.But sometimes we may them annoying.What do you think of it? Do they make us safe or they are just barriers between ourselves.I'd like to hear your thoughts.Thanks.

Locks are for honest people, crooks will find a way in. All they have to do is break a window. Security systems are helpful but we hear so many alarms these days no one responds anymore. Think about it - when you are in a parking lot and hear a car alarm go off do you even look that way? I don't because it occurs too often. A security system on your home can be helpful if it is connected to a monitoring service that will notify fire, police or whomever in the event of an alarm.
