termination vs resignation

Is it possible that I get terminated even if I have already submitted my resignation on my job?

yup! it is possible, during the period of notice you've giving to your company that is estated in your resignation and you committed a grave offense againts the company they might terminate you...it's shame instead of leaving the company in good exit you will leave the company with great embarrassment...

I still have one week on the company. I was absent for a week because I have to attend to some personal matters. I have informed them that I will be out for a couple of days. And my superior told me that they will be filing an incident report because it was an unapproved leave.
I really wanted to submit an immediate resignation because of these personal matters I'm having. But they did not let me so I was forced to render my 30 day stay before the effective resignation date.
