yesterday my mom scolded me a lot for waking up late in the morning. I told her i slept late in the nite but she gave me the stereo type speech which started off like "Early to bed early to rise".. blah blah blah..
the nxt day i woke up late inspite of puttin an alarm. later i learnt that the SNOOZE button played the spoilsport..
so do u ppl use the snooze button???

Almost always! But that's cause I had the time to. For example, 9 am was supposed to be the latest time I need to wake up, I will set my alarm @ 8.30am and then if I really felt that I needed more sleep, I will hit the snooze button until it was almost 9am then I finally dragged myself out of my cozy bed.

Yah! COZY! That's what I felt although my friend thought the word kinda misleading for him. Anyway, yah, I actually can sleep a lot if I want but I can get a terrible headache once in a blue moon if I actually sleep too much. I guess it's like the body signalling to me that I have already plenty of rest so it's time to wake up. LOL

Haha I like how you said "cozy bed" like you never wanna get up. That's how I feel half the time. Sometimes I wish I could sleep for days and days lol.

I use the snooze button regularly but only for ten minutes. I have to get up everyday by 5:30 every morning for my son’s school so I set the alarm at 5:15 and then snooze it for ten minutes so that I get up by 5:25…those ten minutes are a great help to pull me out from the land of sleep and dreams LOL

I know what you mean, those first 10 mins or so is the toughest. I'm usually so lost in dreaming that I need a few mins to remember where I am basically lol and be able to open my eyes and prepare myself to get outta bed. My room is cold, so that may play a factor as well.

Hi koundinya: truly, i do this a lot of times just because it happends the same to me now that i don't have to go to my university every morning- i just study in the afternoons except for the mondays. I stay in my laptop until midnight so you must imagine what happend then, i always wake up late and as you, my mom has to tell me that i need to wake up. It's sometimes stressful to think abou this but i am not planning to change at least until next year. Lol. Xd. I think this is a funny discussion, thanks for opening this to us. Have a nice day and follow your mom's advices about this issue... if you can. Take care.

i would wake once i hear the alarm when i know that i have to go school or i have something important to be done in the early morning. so normally i am very awake on those days and i would not press the snooze button. i use my phone as my alarm clock and it can set 5 different alarm time so i have two different alarm time with the difference of 1 hour but it is only for weekends. my mom will usually wake me up whenever i am not awake after a certain time. so i don't have so much of that problem.

Hi kokila: same here. I always talk to myself when i'm in my bed and it's like a little boy telling me... ok i wake up but not now, please give five more minutes, and then another five and another five until i finally get that i can not keep doing this or i will be late to my work. Lol. XD. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I do this all the time! I would set the alarm then turn it off as soon as it begins to ring then go back to sleep. Needless to say, it would be noon by the time I get up from bed.

ya...i almost do it unconsciously in the sleep a few times before i actually wake up.its been so habitual that i don't think i even bother to open my eyes when my alarm goes off.i even assure my self in my sleep that i will get up as soon as the alarm rings next time...as its just another five minutes.but its the same story till i finally decide to wake up...i know its wrong and working on to improve myself

Hi, koundinya3. Yes, I have hit it many of times. Especially when my husband cell phone goes off. I will have to hit it because he is asleep and he can't tun it off himself. A couple of times I will have to hit my own snooze button but that is not likely.

Oh yeah, I use it everyday. I always have a hard time waking up in the morning, so what I do is set multiple alarms with ten to fifteen minutes in between. And when it goes off in the morning, I would snooze all of it. lol. It's like it urges you to sleep for just a bit longer. I can't help it, even if I set the alarm earlier, I would still get out of bed sometimes with jsut minute to spare for preparation for work, all because of the snooze button. lol.

Hi Koundinya,
I snooze ny alarm everyday, its become a daily activity now for me.I snooze it a number of times, finally close it,but I still don't wake up.And then my mom gets irritated by the alarm and wakes me up.She is the only one who can wake me up.Alarm are not effective for me but I still use it,even I don't know why I do it.
I think its become a habit for me.

I wish alarm clocks didn't have a 'snooze' button.
My clock has one big button for a snooze, but to turn the damned thing off, you have to slide a switch to the left - too complicated a task for 07:30 in the morning! (I'm hopeless at that hour.)
So I usually end up pressing the snooze button a few times (I get nine minutes each), then turning it off when I'm awake enough. Then I have to rush around like a d*ck trying to eat breakfast, iron a shirt, make coffee and take a shower at the same time.
And I'm usually late, even so...

I set an alarm everyday and i switch it off and go to sleep again as soon as it rings. No usage of snooze option for me because I don't want the good for nothing to disturb my sleep again in ten minutes!!..:)....I settle the issue with it once and for all for a day.Wouldn't have mind breaking the mobile phone into two when the alarm rings but I am too lazy to exert myself into any kind of violent activity especially so early in the morning!!..:)

It depends. Sometimes I do hit the snooze button if I know that I do not have much to do that day. If I have to be somewhere, I will not hit the snooze button.

I didn't use to use the snooze button, but now that I basically make my own schedule and don't really have to be anyway, I will do it. My bf is always doing it, so I think it made me do it more.
