Girls like to wear make up but when should a girl really learn to wear them? What age do you think is the most suitable age, why?

Hello! Wearing make-up for girls is all depends on what culture your country have. I am a Filipino but here in our country girls mostly wear make-up when they are already in college. High schools students are usually prohibited by their school administration to wear make-up especially where they are in Catholic School usually run by nuns. It also depends to the girl itself. I myself i only wear make-up for a special occasion. Only i applied lipstick everyday.

In my country, we are not allowed to wear make up to school too. One time during our weekly assembly, two girls a form 6 students were caught by teachers because they were wearing make up to school. If I recall back during my university years, I seldom wore any make up except for lip balm, moisturizer and face powder.

Hi. I'm not sure if there's an ideal age for a girl to start learning how to wear make-ups. In my case, I've learned how to wear make-ups when I was already 21 years old. But I've noticed that my younger sisters are now able to wear make-ups at the age of 15.

I feel about 13/14 would be a good age for girls to start wearing make-up. I have a niece and a few cousins who wear it now at age 11-12 and it don't look good, the cake it on, or wear it like a bad girl (you can fill that in)(no offense tended) They need to learn how to put it on, where it looks good, clean and fresh. Many don't even need to wear make-up and look really good. I feel in their teens, they have matured alittle, know if they really need it, and can be confident with themselves. I wasn't allowed to wear any until I was 13 and I used to wear it all the time, now with being a college student, mother, running and all I hardly wear any.

hi there, I think at around sixteen....when you are starting to enter your senior year in high school. I think that's the right time to learn how and maybe start to use some make-up products. But actually, it's fine to use 'em when you're younger than 16 like 13 to 15. But the appropriateness of having some make-up on are sometimes being questioned. I think it is best to put very light shimmers and lip shiner and not the heavy type of make-ups.

I always wanted to wear makeup early and my mother wouldn't let me. She allowed me to start wearing lipstick (a subtle shade) when I was 12. She then allowed me to wear blush when I was 13, and eyeshadow at 14. However, she always taught me that less is more and would not allow me to wear dark or outrageous colors. Now, my four year old plays with her makeup and it makes me nervous. I find myself telling her what my mom told me. "Less is more." I intend on doing what my mom did and being a big part of showing her how to use makeup and keeping the colors neutral. We all know that kids don't need makeup. They're beautiful as they are, but unfortunately society doesn't tell them so. Plus, children learn most from their parents, so why not be the best role model you can be and keep telling them how beautiful they are.

When my step daughter was 11 I let her start playing around with applying makeup at home. It took a while to convince my husband that this wouldn't turn his daughter into a tramp. Ah fathers, gotta love them, ,always trying to protect their babies. It was around this time that she started to watch me apply my makeup and expressed an interest in it. The Christmas she was 12 I bought her a giant make-up kit to experiment and play with. We also started to let her wear a little bit of eye shadow and lip gloss to very special functions (weddings, etc.). We have also had many conversations about the purpose of makeup. I've made it clear that makeup is something we use to make us feel good, we don't wear it for other people.

I learned from my mom about makeup when I was in middle school, I believe it was 6th or 7th grade. I never really wore it through out middle school or high school though because of sports, why wear a ton of makeup that is just going to end up sweating off your face? and honestly, I didn't have anyone at school to impress, I was there to learn and that was it. To this day I'm still not big on wearing makeup, I've hardly ever worn it to work because I looked presentable without it, I do wear a little if I go out somewhere nice or sometimes I'm in the mood to wear a little bit. I feel that too many girls now a days are wearing a ton of makeup at too young of an age, they need to be acting more like a child, which is what they still are, not trying to look like a 40 year old adult woman. I look seven and eight year old girls wearing makeup and that's want too young if you ask me. I think middle school is appropriate, but not elementary school girls and I say this because they are like I said children and should enjoy it while it lasts.
