Does anyone have any ideas on what to do for fun as a family and separately as a couple that costs very little or preferably no money? In times like these it's hard to come up with things to make life more fun.

If you have a park nearby, your family could go over there and have a picnic, play frisbee, or maybe just lay back and watch the squirrels scampering around. Bicycling is another good activity, as is walking around the neighborhood. Board games are also a good alternative--kudos to the person who suggested it.

My family and I love to play games whether it be card games or board games especially in the winter time. In the summer there are a ton more things to do because you are able to get outside more but because we get snow 9 months out 12 months here we have to find stuff to keep us busy so we don't get cabin fever to easily. We like to switch it up and every other weekend we have what we call family camp night and we will all camp out in the living room and either watch movies or play games and then just for a little bit more fun I will pop popcorn or make a snack like brownies or cookies. we maybe spend $10 or $15 on doing this that is if we get movies. It is cheap, it gives you family time together and my kids seem to have a blast when we do this. This coming weekend we are going to be doing Christmas movies.

well, we go to the library every week to get movies and books (we pick family friendly movies that we all can watch together). hubby and i go on dates to book stores and get a coffee afterwards. in the winter, we go tobogganing or ice skating and in the summer we go to the beach or fly our kite. game nights are always good too. there are so many good games out there. we bought pictureka for christmas this year.
