Yes , ulalithkumar, if we have some unhealthy fear we should try our best to rise our confidence level in that particular field as you pointed out.

Hello Vijayanths I dont have any real fears, or well a little fear for the dentist and a little fear for heights, eg if your in a tree and it doesnt seem stable im very uncomfortable but flying is for an example no problem for me. It is also a matter if it is a fear or if it s a concrete phobia, since there is a big difference on them.

I have a fear of facing the truth.facing my faith and destiny.I get very anxious when i am awaiting or about to know any kind of results.I act like a pessimist and get very nervous at such situations.I myself have not been able to figure a way out of this.

We all have the anxiety when we are about to get the results, smart_chap. I think you can easily come out of it if you think it is a problem.

hi vijayanths I have a fear of heights and sometimes it makes it hard to do some of the things I had to do as going shopping ina two story mall so I would just make myself go up on the escalators as the shops I wanted to shop in were usually on the second floor. I just did not walk close to the edge of the railing so I did not have to look down, and this worked fine. I still have the fear but it no longer rules me. I rule it.Now I have a fear of falling which is really rather a healthy fear as it came about from a bad fall in which I broke my shoulder. my sense of balance is off due to my diabetes so I am very careful to watch for things on the floor that might trip me and so on. this is not an unhealthy fear aNd it does not stop me from going about my daily life.

Honestly I scared to die young and to be alone forever. I know that all of us die and we can't avoid it to happened to all of us. I'm afraid also to have a relationship to a guy because of my health problem.

I have several. I think I fear financial problems, therefore, I keep earning. I may not live long enough with 2012 round the corner (LOL), but still I keep planning for the next 10 or 20 or even 30 years. :) I think I do need to live in the present. I also fear losing my papa. I feel suddenly there will flood of relatives who have been cruel to me when I was young. I no longer know whether it is this fear because of which I am scared to lose my papa, or because I genuinely love my papa and therefore I dont want to lose him. I hope it is the later. But, and I might add a big but there. These fears take up less than 10 or 20 minutes of my waking hours. :) In dreams it is seas (dark waters), under sea, broken steps, swings, and dark skies that scare me, as do snakes. I often see myself above the earth in my dreams. I also fear accidents. I often go to a temple under the sea which rocks! There seems to be some deity there whom I have to visit. I see plenty of smaller temples on the way. So you could say there is something related temples as well. Too irrational, am I? That is why I counter it with absolute rationality elsewhere so that there is some balance. :)

I know vandana pretty well that you are very much afraid of losing your loving dad. If 2012 stuff is going to be real, well I will also not live longer. Oh, I salute your attitude to plan for 30 years. I can't plan for more than 10 years. About the dreams many people get these occasionally. It may reflect the fear factors in us.(Do the snakes bit you in your dreams? -if it bites it is good they say and if it chases you and never bites, it may indicate a health or such problem) Temple dreams are good I think, whether it is under water or above water. Are you an expert swimmer? How do you manage under water? You are lucky enough to enjoy watching the sea life for free?

Vandana, I think you are feeling too unsecured and hence you get all these dreams. I wish you had more friends and relatives who care for you. Remember there are millions and millions of people living in this world with no one to care for them. We are living far better life than them. We must be thankful to God for having given us what we are having now. One side your very brave and strong. Another side it is the opposite. well we all have these factors... so just try to live as happily as possible.

It is not that pleasant you know - under the sea, with little or no light, and a tall dark reef within which some newt like animal has a home / hole. Passing by it also scares. And being in space! I keep wondering why did I ever come here? There are artificial sattelites on which people live, and few lose lives on the way. So I think of it all as madness even in my dreams. Temple, yes, I get up with a pleasant feeling the following morning. :) I once dreamt that the goddess was being carried across in a palki and she came asked the people walk back a bit and she came near me, smiled and left - no talk! May be I am profoundly religious in my mind. I trust her for sure. But I really dont know why I get such dreams. No snakes never bite me. But there are oh! so many. People say as age passes such dreams come down. My nightmares continue. :(

Fear is taboo for me. But honestly, one of God's creations that gives me the creeps are the reptiles. Snakes especially give me the jitters. Though from a distance they appear magnificent, I abhor them. When I see slimy, baby snakes creeping out of their shells, my hair stands on ends. No doubt I like to watch Indian movies based on the Snake goddess. I cannot explain why this is so. Maybe because it is based on the supernatural and paranormal themes while the dances are tantalizing.

I have a fear of very high places but I don't let that fear keep me from experiencing something that I want to experience. Any fear that stops you from doing something that you want...or need...to do, is an unhealthy fear.

If you drink quality stuff in little quantity every day can actually do good to you especially if you are above 40. Only thing is you should have the control to stop at correct levels.

hello dear brother, Fear is almost in everything we do,and in our thoughts. Just like what you have stated...so many fears, healthy fears and unhealthy ones. Healthy fears-is having the common fear in life. The fear to failed our loved ones from their expectations. The fear of losing our beloved ones,in different ways. Unhealthy fear -for me is...not to fear GOD. ....People who never done good in their lives becoz they doesn't fear no one ,and GOD is no exemption to that.(they sees themselves as god....god of evil)

I am afraid of having nightmares.:-) As a kid, I used to have bad dreams a lot of times. It was always about losing a dear one either through an accident or from a weird and horrific manner. I often found myself unable to breathe and those nightmares hunted me for weeks before I can fully get over with it.

Hi vijayanths, Nice topic to discuss. I really had the fear of public speaking during my graduation. But later I was forced to tackle that fear making more and more seminars and more speech. Now I don't have that much fear but a normal fear before a public. I really fear of having sickness. 'cause I don't wanna be in sickness ever as I had suffered a lot in my sickness. These are my fears and I really like to watch more responses from others too. Cheers... Have a nice day always...
