Good day myotters. I have had something funny happen to me today and I wanted to share with you all. I decided to stop by a local burger place in my town today to get a small burger and a drink. Pulled up to the drive thru and placed my order. I always order without any mustard or ketchup on my burger. I looked at the screen and the order was right.Pulled on up payed and collected my bag. Since I was going to be driving while eating I took the burger out of the bag. Unwrapped the wrapping and thought something didn't look right. Took the top bun off and there was NO BURGER on the burger..LOL.. Turned around and went back thru the drive thru without stopping at the monitor. When the girl approached I handed her the burger and ask if she seen anything wrong with it..She started to laugh and got the manager to the window. I still am laughing over this ordeal. So what kind of story do you have that deals with a fastfood place?

Hi Rose, You are just so nice not to react negatively in this kind of situation. you even find something to laugh on and even laugh together with the store staff and manager. if you are hungry and really in a hurry for an appointment then you found out that nothing is in your burger will this be same reaction? if yes---i admire you for having the heart to see that it's not intentional but things like that somehow happen anywhere. I don't have experience yet in a fast food chain that's worth sharing. yours is really funny!

Hi woman Well yeah I still would have gotten tickled about it. Everyone is entitled to a mistake every now and then. It just happen to me this time around. Im glad that they wasn't busy at the time or the manager might not have been laughing with me about it. Thanks for asking and responding. Have a nice day. Keep smiling my friend.

Hi rose, what on earth made you go back? Surely the bread would be improved somewhat by missing the filling but if you have the habit to eat whilst you drive you are probably immune to the fact that nothing in that bag could be said to resemble food in the first place. Luckily we don't have those types of fast food places, Greeks prefer slow food which is real food.

Actually, that reminds me, since we've had this stupid no smoking law here since the summer it has made not one iota of difference, but the chain places have to take the threats more seriously I presume so have gone no smoking. I've noticed now its gone cold so the customers aren't sitting outside anymore that they have no customers anymore. I was in town yesterday and stopped in my town favourite place for coffee and bougatsa which has a few branches and all the ashtrays have disappeared from inside to comply with the no smoking ban. They do do the best coffee of anywhere there so I ordered as normal but no way was I sitting outside in the rain so brought up the no smoking question. An ashtray duly arrived with my coffee. I just knew no sane Greeks would go along with such a stupid law.

Hi thea What..NO SMOKING IN YOUR OWN CAR..Now that is insane. Over hear they have some restuarants that don't allow smoking and then at the hospitals you cant smoke within so many feet of the building but not in your own car. I know that would drive me crazy, well that is for the rest of this month. Thanks for sharing that with me. Have a nice day. Keep smiling.

HAHAHA thea Well your right I should have never tried to eat and drive. This isn't a practice that I do alot. This day I was kinda in a hurry and was getting real hungry, so I thought why not. LOL..I wasn't in the mood for a salad sandwhich. I wanted that meat. Keep smiling.

Now that's a funny story. Almost sounds as though it was done on purpose. Would think the employee that made the burger sure would have noticed there wasn't any meat between the buns..lol Am surprised they didn't offer to give you a coupon or something so your next trip would cost you zero since you had to return. I rarely go through a drive-thru since there hasn't been one time it was right. If I ask for no pickles I get pickles. If I ask for a regular soda I get a diet. The list goes on and on.

Do you think this could have been done as a joke? It's almost too silly to be an accident.

Hi carol Oh yes you got that right. I always have that kind of problems. I always ask for no ketchup and half of the time I get ketchup. I have learned to check out the burger. If I had went down the road and then found out that I didn't have the burger I would have asked for some credit. Since I was still in the parking lot I just wanted a new with the beef on it this time. Have a good day Carol and keep a smile on that face today.

Well I don't know. It wasn't anyone that I knew. It was actually in another town. When I ask her to look at it she just stood and stared at me before opening.

Hi rosepedal, Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh! That is pretty funny. I can't say that I've had anything like that happen to me. I have ordered and paid for my food and driven off without it.....a few times.

I didn't have quite one like this, but I do remember a special order that the person misunderstood and we had to go around 3 or 4 times before we got it right. Don't remember the details but I was probably ordering something without cheese and they were looking at me really strange because they thought I wanted no meat. Probably it was a taco, but I'm not sure any more...

When I go to get a taco salad I always ask for extra meat sauce and they will repeat to me several times. But I believe they don't give me the extra because it don't look that way. Im going to start telling them on the side that way I know that I am really getting for paying extra..

They must've been busy or if not, someone felt rushed! lol! Wow, that's the first time I've heard of something like that, but it's interesting. I think I may have been a bit irked, I have bouts where I get angry for no reason at stuff that should really be silly, but I think I'd have to laugh afterward anyway, and it was an honest mistake.

Hi somecowgirl That wasn't the issue at all. I was the only one in the drive-thru and went I had to pull back around I still was the only one. They was standing and talking when I came back around. I was a little upset but they made it right. I guess things happen. Have a nice day Keep smiling.

Then they were just distracted, oh well it is good they corrected it. Most places will do that if you call and tell them something wasn't right, or if you go right back up there...

They are pretty good about making their mistakes right. The manager was making sure that the beef was on mine second around burger..LOL Cowgirl keep a smile on your face today. It makes things go alot smoother..

Hi anne I know what you are talking about. I tried to order the other day..chilli cheese fries. They didn't have them any more. Said that the company was longer going to make them. I was lost for words. They always serve them this time of year and now they don't. What a bummer... Thanks for your thoughts and have a great day. Keep smiling.

That is funny...I ordered a couple of pizza's from a well known pizza place and when I was handed one of them, while waiting on the other one I opened the box to check and see if I had been given the right things I had ordered...to my amazement a huge bite had been taken out of a slice of the pizza. I got her back to the window and told her I will not accept nor pay for that pizza and told her why. She said, " your kidding!" I said, "no, look for yourself". She did and I got a new pizza.

That’s amusing and it’s good everyone had a laugh about it! I would guess that it happens all the time and it’s probably fair to say that not every customer will be as gracious as you were! I have often got the wrong pizza and things like that; sometimes I’ll go back, other times I’ll adjust. This has nothing to do with food but my sister bought us two cordless phones for my and my husband’s birthdays a few years ago and we unwrapped the gift opened the box and...You guessed it...Empty! You have to wonder if they do it on purpose sometimes!

14 Dec 09
OH my gosh...I bet that your sister was also vanished when you opened the box too. That sounds like my luck. The bad thing would be that I would have problems finding the receipt. With your story I think I will go look in my boxes before wrapping them now..lOL Thanks for sharing your story with me. Have a good day paula. Keep smiling.

How funny no burger that was so fast it was missed. My husband can eat a burger but without all the stuff on it.It was about 7years ago he asked for plain burger and brought the place to a standstill, the young manager got in a right state,no one had ever ordered a plain burger before,My husband just explained put the burger in the bun and hand it over, easy. So thats what happened and everyone was happy including my husband I laughed till I cryed.

Sounds like you had a little fun with asking did they see something wrong with the order. I've seen people flip out over not getting what they asked for at a burger joint. It's very funny to see a ground man just go off over not getting his fries, or asking for extra pickles and not getting those either. People take fask food too serious. I would tell them to chill out, but I don't enjoy being yelled at for being a rational human being. I'd rather be applauded, but it has not happened yet for some reason.

Yeah cb..I wouldn't get my hopes built up too much..LOL I know the girl at the window just stared at me when I ask her to look inside. I think she was putting herself on a defense mode before she said anything. I wasn't going to yell I was just trying to keep from laughing myself. Have a good day cb and remember to keep smiling.

Hahaha that's hilarious. Somebody must have been paying less than no attention at their job lol. I almost never eat fastfood, so unfortunately I have no good stories to tell. I do seem to be cursed at restaurants though. Whenever I got to a restaurant with my family, my food usually comes out like a half hour after theirs. Cheers!

I went to a McDonald's in Oakland California once--in a neighborhood so bad they had to play classical music to keep the teenagers out, lol. An indigent fellow came in out of the rain with $2, all he had to his name, and said he was a vegetarian and could he please have the $1 cheeseburger with NO MEAT. He was very polite, but did not want to take no as an answer. They were quite rude and in addition, refused to sell it that way. It really caused a fuss and I am sure many people in the growing line thought as I did, why don't they just give it to him and get him out of there so the rest of us could order. But no, even when he offered them his whole $2, they refused to serve him what was essentially a cheese sandwich. So there you are--you wanted the meat and got none and that poor fellow wanted your "burger" and didn't get anything. Life is strange sometimes.
• United States
13 Dec 09
That was a little strange on McDoalds part not to let him have the burger without the beef. I agree with you and everyone in line that they should have just given his sandwhich to him. I wouldn't have made a big fuss over it at all. It sounded like that just wanted to be rude him because of appearance and of course the area. If I run across him I will give him my beefless sandwich.. Oh yeah by the way..good to hear from you. Are you doing okay...

dont have a story lately about a fastfood place but i was at the local riteaide and bought some christmas card, ibuprofin and tums, and a gift card for my son for Christmas. the clerk got really flustered as the card would not scan and she tried six or seven before one scanned. Okay I pay my bill , she puts my stuff in the sack and my friend Nelda drives me home. Long after she has left on the way to her own home in the adjoining city, I open my sack, the gift card is there, the Christmas cards are there, and the ibuprofin, but no tums, so I check the bill .she did charge me for the tums but never put them in the sack. So I thought about the price of the tums versus the cost of gas for myfriend to take me backthe next day and decided it would cost more to make another trip than the tums were worth so let it go.but I hate it when they forget something yet charge me for it. they are supposed to put all of my purchases in a sack as they add it on the register, then hand me the sack with all my purchases.

That has happen to me a few time at a fastfood place. I only live about 5 blocks away so I took the burger less sandwich back. They just said sorry and put a burger on my sandwich. I usually order one of there burgers and it would cost me 30 cents more for cheese sometimes I would not get my cheese now before I leave the fastfood place I always check to make sure it is alright before I drive away. I want my burger and cheese on my sandwich.

Haha! That made me laugh. =] I remember once when I was younger, my mom ordered me some chicken nuggets and ordered herself a full meal from McDonalds. we got all the way home before noticing that they shorted me 3 chicken nuggets! I was sad, but she just laughed it off and went uptown to buy me a bag we could cook in our oven. I don't normally get upset about it now that I'm older, but I always make sure to check my order at the counter in case they did forget something. Sometimes it happens, and you can't really get mad at an accident [unless you were like us, who lived a half an hour away from the place you got your food and got all the way home before realizing something was wrong!]. But that's why I check my order before I leave now.
