My cat did the funniest thing today

He did! When my boyfriend and I went out to have a smoke, my cat was laying in his favorite chair across the living room. We came in and started taking our coats off. When my boyfriend shut the door, my cat [Cosmo] suddenly stood up, his back arched and his tail puffed up, and hissed! We were all confused, because we go in and out all the time with pretty much no reaction from him. Then when my boyfriend got closer to take his shoes off, Cosmo hissed again! I went over and petted him, and he didn't do anything but stare at my boyfriend. Eventually he calmed down, but we never figured out why he did that. Haha, it was funny though. Does your cat ever do funny or odd things that they don't normally do? Do you ever figure out why they did it?

Our cats will do odd things. For example our cat Little Bit will hiss at the vacume. Here's the thing, its not even on when he does it. He sees it being ready to be plugged in, arches his back and hisses at it with all his might. We don't know why he reacts in this way, but he does. Though your cat seems to have to reacted simularrly to your boyfriend that my cat Precious did with a stranger that walked around the corner one day. We had Precious out with us in an old beat up basket. George was pushing me in my wheelchair, and I had precious and said basket on my lap. George and I were talking, and all of the suddon, Precious freaks out, and tries to get out of his leash and colur. He is normally a calm creature and will purr when we take him out for "walks" in this way. People come up and pet him, and he'll rub against them or turn around and rub against me. If the weather is plesent enough, he'll purr on top of it. But, that one afternoon, that one man, just scared him something awful. We never saw the man again after that day, and we've never had a problem like that since.

Haha! My cat just runs away from the vacuum if you get to close to him with it. That's cute! Wow, that's sure odd. I wonder what it was about that one guy that was so different from all the others? Well it's cute you take your cat on 'walks', I would love to take my cat outside [we even have a leash for him] but I'm so afraid he'll run away. He's never been outside before, so I don't know how he'll react. I'd love to try it though!

well, the cats don't hiss at us much, but that doesn't mean they aren't always doing weird stuff - I think its in their genetic material that they MUST weird us out at LEAST once a month...

Haha! I find that to be true as well with my cat. He always finds some way to wierd me out, me or my mom. Like a few weeks ago he was hunting a bug on the floor, and when he charged at it he ran right past it. He kind of sat there for a few minutes looking around before walking away.

yeah - bugs - one cat was chasing a bug in my shower and the fool SAT on the darn bug and then couldn't figure out where it went! Jellibaby stalked a fly, caught it, ate it and then wondered where her wonderful toy went to.

Haha! That's cute. =] My cat hates water, or anything related to it, so he pretty much stays away from the shower and sinks as much as possible. It's hell trying to give him a bath!

My cat papa always expects that every time new food is to be served on the eating bowl. Though there is already enough food in the bowl, it makes some noise and looks at us. We have to put at leaset little of new food from the container and then only he will start eating.

Our cat does a few funny things on a daily basis. Like when his dry food bowl has food in it, but he ate to one side down to the bottom, he meows at us for more food because he can see the bottom of the bowl. Fortunately we can just tip the bowl so the food evens out and he can't see the bottom anymore. The other day he randomly came running through the living room and began scratching and meowing at the front door frantically to get out. So we let him out. Little did we know that he had accidentally peed on the basement steps until it began to stink...

Haha! That's cute! =] Luckily my cat was litter trained from the day we got him when he was 3 weeks old. If he pees accidentally somewhere [which has only happened once] he'll paw at your leg and lead you to where he did his accident. When we clean it up he goes to sulk in the corner, haha.
