I seem to have the luck of being around miserable people and misguided children at all the right times to hear them say very rude things, and I let it get to me. Yesterday, as I was walking into my local Walmart, There were two younger guys(perhaps about 17, or 16) and one said something about taking the collection money from the Salvation Army lady that was standing in the front of the store.
The other boy just laughed and made a comment back to which I didn't hear clearly. But anyway, it makes me so angry to hear these things. Especially when things like that do happen alot.
In the local news, I also remember hearing of people stealing from churches and even the Mayor of our small town nearby that was stealing money from the church!
What is the world coming to? It really is a shame!

Hi marlen. Yes I feel you. It's really sad to see what this world has become. Witnessing those types of scenarios would really make me mad. I don't know what's happening to younger generations now. It seems that evil or being bad is a nice thing for them. More and more children or teenagers each day are becoming to think that being bad is very cool. Too bad that we can't do much with it except for guiding our children and young relatives not to do such things.

It sounds like he was just making a joke about it. This is a far cry from actually stealing or even seriously considering stealing. I think this is just an instance of a kid making a dumb comment--something most of us do, but most of us also grow out of.

My thoughts exactly. If the kids did not reach for the bucket or make the statement to the woman ringging the bell then it was kids just making dumb jokes between themselves. They probably never thought that anyone else would hear them. I know that is not right for them to say but you have to remember kids will be kids and say stuff that is not something most would approve of.

The sad part in all of this is, are you really sure that they were just kidding? They more than likely were but you just never know anymore. A while back there was a local girl that was stealing from the food pantry and was going into local stores and telling the clerk that she was there to pick up the donations. She did it in the store that I work in which was really dumb on her part because it is a small town, I know her and also knew who it was that really was to pick up the donations.

marlena18042 you know I read something similar to this not long ago but it was written in the year 1400 so evidently children and teens have always had a few bad eggs in with the good ones. I have a hunch that hthere are kids that would do something like steal from a Salvation army lady, they have parents who themselves have not set good examples. after all the parents are really the first and best teachers for good or bad manners before the schools or other entities. Also remember that so many people take the papers to get all the gory details as for some reason bad news sells papers. It is so easy to get carried away with what is wrong with our world to day we forget that there are things that are very right.what is this world coming to? the same thing it always has come to, good and evil, thats what.

Hi! It seems that this is happening more and more every day. It is like this is becoming the norm, and there are people who just don't care. I wonder every day what the world is coming to, and i have gotten to where i do not watch the news, or even read the newspaper because there is never anything good being broadcast. I try to teach my children not to be rude, and to be helpful to others. I have went so far as to keep them away from some of their so-called friends, who are very rude, and don't care about anyone but themselves. It is a shame to see this every day.

Yes. The news does seem to broadcast the bad things that happen way more then they tell of the good! There seem to be alot of negative influences now that kids see and even look up to!

That would upset me, when they talk about doing something like that, you know it is at least, on their minds. What would a 16 or 17 year old think that they need that is more important than what the Salvation Army does with that money? Feeding a family is more important than any video game they could ever play.

Yes, it truly is a shame when You hear about this. Now that the world economy is getting so bad. It will probably happen a lot more because people are losing their money and jobs. Then they become really desperate and do these horrible things.

Hi marlena, well things got worst today when it comes to money matter. Even people in position do that. You cant do anything with that, you cant force people to change or not do things like that especially powerful people. All you can do is prayer, and do your own thing that wont harm others, and if someone is getting something from others or stolen, try to give something to others. Rememeber, Always be a blessing to others.
