What is the average you spend on Christmas?

With the way that the economy has been affecting our finances, shopping for Christmas this year has been difficult.I know we are not spending as much as previous years, but we will still make sure everyone in our family(other than the kids) get something, it is the thought that counts anyway, right?
I think 1 very nice gift each and then a few smaller ones per child.
It's definitely going to be harder to buy for the teens this year because they like clothes and we all know how costly theyt can be. My two year old however, would be happy with just tearing up wrapping paper!haha.
Fortunatly, my children are not spoiled and they are pretty grateful for whatever they receive, I just wish sometimes that I could do more!

Hi,
It is hard to tell really as sometimes I buy things during August and start with high price items :D LOLz It is hard to know by year end how much did I spend especially that I sometimes buy things and then change my mind and buy some other things and change this and that. As for wrapping, it happens to me too as I have some gifts but did not have the chance to write on them and now I think I'll have to tear the wrapping to discover what's in there
Thanks
