It is getting harder to find interesting discussions to response to!

I think activity has declined on here a lot since I first joined. In the last 2 or 3 years I've seen a lot of people come and go. It used to be where you would see the same user starting discussions every day. And they were good discussions too. Now it's harder. i have days where i can find enough to keep me busy for awhile and then I have days where I can't find enough to respond to so I'll just go do something else. Most people are on here to make money and look for other ways to make money which is why the discussions are mostly about that. Plus I've noticed that around the holidays things slow down. People are too busy to get on here.

I'm finding myself in a similar situation as you. It seems that lately I'm finding it difficult to find discussions to respond to. It seems like it's a lot more difficult than maybe a month or two ago. I'm not sure why this is. I suppose it might be partly due to the fact that it's Christmas time. I don't know whether this is the case or not, but it's a possibility. I hope that it will change, at some point or another. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Hi Sweet You will find that it will be like this for next couple of Months here it is always like this over the Christmas Season it will probably pick up again middle of January as everyone is so busy now with Christmas and that I have the same problem at the moment

Yes, I think we're all finding that at the moment. I think the problem is that regular MyLotters are busy with Christmas stuff, and the new members coming in are more interested in money than discussions, which is sad, as if they put more effort into their discussion topics and responses they'd earn more. I did start a discussion about travel problems, but again, there's probably lots of those, as everyone seems to be experienceing bad weather conditions at the moment. Things can only get better!

I think its hard to find good discussions these days, too. Well, at least discussions that interest me. I guess its just part of a "change" that many website have gone through recently- like myspace losing many members and just really becoming a place for fake profiles and stuff and craigslist getting more and more scam posts. w

I have joined mylot just few minutes back. I was just browsing through the topics and apparently it seems that the statement made is not all correct. There are few discussions that are worth participating. But what you have said is true in the sense that if quality of topic is not exciting and/or of learning nature one would simply loose interest in it and some the board will reduce to gossip and mere chating. Discussion topics should be such that adds some value to your knowledge and the same should ensure a lot sharing. It should be remembered that mylot should not be taken as a tool to earn money by commenting or posting discussion topics. Quality, here is of priority. Thanks n regards

In the beginning I was engaging myself in starting lots of discussions ,but I have to admit that I'm so busy now that I wait for my friends to start a discussion. I think that a lot of people think that my lot is only for the purpose of obtaining business prospects ,and they really have no interest in making good friends by participating in interesting discussions.

Hi sweetlady, it's obviously time for you to take up a bit of profile stalking to find the good discussions, that's where most of them are. Simply pick a victim, sorry, interesting mylotter, and go and re open all their old discussions which you may have missed. I saw your comment that it was more interesting a few years ago and I have to say I found a few the other day through going into one of the discusssions at the side of discussions and there was a whole bunch of inept one liners with no replies, so it did go on then too.

I am finding the saem thing. I do all the discussions that interest me, with pleny of time left over in the day. Most of the ones I have see lately, have bee repeats of ones that have been posted numerous times, and I do get tired of seeing those, but most of the time, they come form newbies, that don't realize the discussions have been posted before. I will try to help them when I can, but if I see the same one posted again, I will just ignore it. I do that, becaise I don't have anything to say different than I have already said. Once I have covered all the discussions that interest me, then I will either search or go to my other interests and see if there are discussions posted there. I would like to be able to have more discussions to post to, than there is time to do them, and maybe one of these times there will be. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

i agree with your views,i often like to look for some interesting discussions,but i find it is a little,repeating discussion and normal discussion for life,i feel abored at it,so i find that i dont hope to respond it again.although it often happen in life,but serious thing appear in the life,this need my care and pay attention.

hi sweetlady, well even i sometimes find no discussions where i could voice my opinion, well the best thing you could do in such things is go to other lotter's profiles or perhaps your friends profile's and find some older discussions which you could reply to.. i too don't like to see much of money making discussion coz i am here for that, hmmm more of such discussions could mean more and more lotters these days are more interested in making money i guess, anyways .. i hope you find something nice to discuss over... have a nice day sweetlady

Are you just looking on the general discussion board? There are different discussion boards that you can choose from, but I'm sure you already know that. You mean people aren't posting anything interesting in your fav. discussion topics either? That is a shame. Sometimes if I hear something interesting on the news or newspaper I will mention it on mylot. That usually gets a decent discussion going. What do you think of that idea?

Hi! yes, it is really hard these days to find a interesting discussion, but I still find some. I like when I find some discussion of my interests and I hurry up to respond to it.

Not really, but I only respond to discussions that interest me.

i think i have to agree with you... yes, it is definitely getting harder and harder to find quality discussions here... that's why i had reduced my activities a lot here and start doing other things rather than mylotting... but i still like this place though because i still have lots of friends here... take care and have a nice day...

I have noticed that when I am tired, I do not really want to take the trouble to respond. I read a bunch, but just do not have energy and interest in responding. I do not start very many discussions. I am pretty busy now with work, and I would not be able to support the discussions with comments if I did start them.

Hi Sweetlady. Well, firstly I cannot complain, since I very seldom post discussions. I prefer to respond to others. When I joined myLot more than three years ago there weren't many members, but there were numerous top quality discussions every day, ranging from serious to hilarious and everything in between. It was difficult just to keep up with those from friends. I left myLot two years ago and returned here a few months ago. Some things are still the same, but some have changed. I agree the number of new discussions is fewer, but I find enough to do in the time I have allotted. I am really only interested in keeping in touch with my friends. A few of them here have a great sense of humour and following the threads is great fun.

There seem to be fewer discussions just lately, but I think it's because so many are extra busy preparing for the holidays. I don't seem to have trouble finding some that interest me, but if I did, I would simply start a few of my own :D Karen

It isn't getting hard for me but then I am new to the whole mylot thing. I do find discussions that scare me and make me worry about mylot friends but as a whole; I find discussions that do interest me. The problem that I find is that I don't always have the time to finish a discussion and I have to add to it the following day.
