Anyone else have really messed up sleep schedules? I swear it is getting annoying. I spend a lot of sleepless nights and the next day I'm really tired so I consume a lot of energy drinks. Even when I sleep normally in comparison I can't go sleep earlier than 1 or 2 am. When I go to sleep often I lay in bed for like an hour before I fall asleep. I get few hours to sleep and then when weekend comes I sleep for like 14 hours a day.
What should I do about this?

People have different sleep patterns. Some patters where brought from biological clock, meaning your automatic routine cycle since childhood or ever since your body had adapted to that time. so, even you want to sleep early, you cannot totally sleep unless a specific time has come in constant time and happens every night.
Some sleep problems may be due to mental worries, it maybe a form of depressions, anxiety or too much thinking of many things..that prevent you going to sleep,
Some sleep patterns goes with your adapted lifestyles, and some people are afraid to sleep much because of nightmare fears..
I suggest the following,
try to drink milk before going to sleep.
Avoid any activities that will tend to prevent you or inhibit you going to sleep.
some do activities that will tend them be tired and so after it, they will sleep all way out,
avoid foods or energetic drinks that has high caffeine content,
some uses sleepy sounds music to make their mind relaxed before going to bed..
If nothing from my suggestions worked for you, then try to consult a doctor because you may be having an INSOMNIA- sleeping disorder, for you to be given proper medications and preventions.

Oh, I wanted to respond, but somehow it slipped my mind.
Your post is informative, but actually all those options are rather hard for me.
1. Nightmares can't be the problem, because I enjoy them immensely, it's like an action movie for free.
2. It's a cursed cycle, I drink caffeine because I'm tired and I'm tired because I drink caffeine.
3. Sleepy sounds draw attention from sleep.
The problem with my sleep is probably mental. Every time I go to sleep, unless I'm extremely tired, I will think about everything for a long time. I always been surprised by how fast other people fall asleep, when I have to put a lot of work in it. :)

It is more likely that I wont sleep at all if a book is good. So that is not really a good solution for me :)

That's not healthy for sure. I would sit down and "budget" your time out. Spend a little time figuring out what you are going to do for the week. Set alarms, to do lists or whatever you have to do to stick with your "budget". Give it at least 2 weeks to get in the routine. Your body will eventually adjust to a normal schedule.
Not saying I'm an expert, but that just what I would do.

Well I hardly can do that. I have a habit of creating my to do lists on the run. Same with sleep I go whenever I absolutely must, no sooner.
