Finding neverland

Hey i saw 'Finding Neverland' in PIX from the middle i suppose. In it , does neverland is a imaginary place or real one or what it is. Hero says that his brother has died when he was a boy.He dressed himself like his brother for his mother. I tried to understand the movie plot. But I could not.

It's been a few years since I've seen that film, but I believe that neverland is an imaginary place. I think it was a place for you to go if you were unhappy or something? I don't remember much. I'm sure another website like wikipedia can give more information than I can. Sorry!
