We currently don't have one There isn't enough room for one in our bedrooms as we have a small house. But when we lived in an apartment w/ a bit more room and fewer people I had one.
I kept my glasses case, glass of water, tv remote, small tube of lotion, the earings I wore that day, and box of tissues.

I do have a nightstand, but due to space constraints, it's full of junk. On top of it is a box of decorations, and a toolbox. At the moment there's also a box of gifts, but that will be gone on Friday. Also there's the alarm clock. When I go to bed I'll take off my hair tie and bra and place them there along with a bottle of water. If I took my contacts out earlier in the day I'll also place my glasses there, but normally I take my contacts out immediately before bed so I leave my glasses in the bathroom, where I took them off earlier that day.

No, we gotta get a lawyer to put it in our name, then do a bit of fixing up, and all this other stuff. Not sure. At this point we're sort of looking at revisiting the whole idea, second guessing our decisions, you know.

My husband and I both have a nightstand. On his is his alarm clock and our cordless phone. On mine I have a lamp, box of tissues, the tv and dvd player remotes and my alarm clock. I love my alarm clock. I saved up my points on one of my survey sites and got it. It is one that you can plug your ipod into the top and play the songs on your ipod and even wake up to them as your alarm. We have to have 2 separate alarms because he gets up earlier than I do and I kept shutting his alarm off half asleep and he'd get up late lol.

I've never shut off my hubby's alarm when he had one. Usually we worked opposite shifts or I'm home when he's sleeping so I usually do the waking up & no need for an alarm unless we have a specific place to be.

Seriously 3 alarm clocks????? I guess in a way you could say I have 3+ on this end too! I have 3 kids, a dog that will be a nusance til you get up and let him out, and occasionally hubby beats me out of bed.... occasionally as i'm a lighter sleeper than him.

I don't have a nitestand. oh wait...i don't have a bed. I have a couch. I don't keep much on my coffee table....alarm clock. I take my earrings and bracelets off by the computer and that is where they sit till morning. I don't go to couch until i'm ready to sleep and all I need is my trusty alarm clock.

My nightstand has my reading glasses, my other glasses, a glass of water, a noise machine to help me sleep, my lamp and a box of Kleenex. That pretty much fills it up! No room for my book, which is on the floor by my bed.

A nightstand is definitely something that I couldn't live without. I've always had one or figured out something that could serve the same purpose as a nightstand does. On the one that I currently have in my house, I keep the book that I am reading at the current time. I have my alarm clock on it. I have a lamp so that I can easily turn off the lights when I am ready to go to sleep. I also have a photo of my children on my bedside table.

Well, I'm not sure if what I have can be called a nightstand, but what I keep there is a sleeping mask, my cellphone, a box of tissues, and my keys.
Also I keep a bottle of water, but I put it on the floor instead, as my stand is a little small.

for me ,i think keep one nightand beside the bed is convenient .yes ,just like you say ,the basic is glasses.when we want to sleep ,if we just stay on the bed ,it is so incovenient to get up to put the glasses ,espcially in this cold winter .so i have the nightstand beside my bed .
