Birthdays close to Christmas

I have some friends that have birthdays just before or after Christmas. I think that because people have brought Christmas presents then the birthday people get less than they would if they had been born in a different month. Do you have any friends with birthdays close to Christmas time? If so how do they find it? Is your birthday near to Christmas? Luckily my birthday in in July which is summer time, my favorite season.

I have friends that have b-days close to Christmas time and they feel like they are being cheated out of what they could have gotten had they been born in a different month. I agree with them, I think that's not fair and will try to what I can to get their family members to realize that. Some times, they listen and sometimes they don't. All I know is if I ever have a child that falls into this predicament, I will always make sure they get stuff for their b-day, and stuff for Christmas too, instead of looking like a cheapskate to my children.

My sister's birthday is December 20th and she hates it. It's easy to overlook her birthday a little as far as trying to do something really special for it. We never really decorate for her birthday because Christmas stuff is always up and she doesn't get as many gifts because she already has so many Christmas gifts. My husband's birthday is January 5, so it's not too close to Christmas but it's not too long after either so money is a little tight sometimes to go out to eat for a big birthday dinner or a big gift. My best friend's husband's birthday is December 26. He never gets to really celebrate his like a birthday.

My daughter's birthday was the 17th. It's a pain because if we have a party, half her friends can't come because their family is out of town for Christmas. But hey, the child was due December 2nd, and didn't choose to make an appearance until the 17th. Not MY choice. lol

I have two cousins who have birthdays before Christmas but I never did know how they managed because they live far away and I never did talk to them about it. I used to send them Christmas cards and I would wish them a happy birthday as well as a merry christmas. There is a little boy at church (I say little but he's not so little any more. He's a teenager now, lol) who has a birthday on December the 8th and I think he gets birthday presents on his birthday and christmas presents on christmas. Kathy.

I asked mother one time when I as a child how people managed who had birthdays in December and she said they would just have to decide on which day day they want to get their gifts and celebrate both occasions on that day. I don't think this is always the case, though. My birthday is in February. A lot of famous people were born in February, lol. Kathy.

My birthday is ON Christmas. To put it simply, it sucks. I don't even really get to celebrate it. I've tried celebrating it earlier in December or in the beginning of January, but it's definitely not the same. One time I even tried to do a "half-birthday party" on June 25th, but no one showed up because no one understood. Whenever someone finds out that I'm a Christmas baby, they always get excited and ask (it really never fails - it's the same question every single time) "So do you get double presents for Christmas?" It always irritates me because I get half as many presents... And to make it worse, my daughter's due date was on December 28th, so when that Christmas came around, everyone in the family came to visit, but it wasn't for my birthday, it was to see if I would go into labor and have my daughter on my birthday. Every 5 minutes, someone would ask if I was "ready to go" yet. I finally just told everyone that even if I did go into labor, no one was going to know until the next day because there was no way that I was going to have her on my birthday. I knew how bad it was to have a Christmas birthday and I wasn't going to take a chance on her dealing with it too. Luckily she wasn't born until the beginning of January.

It is not like that. Affection and love will play a great part in the action of giving away gifts. Birth day present will have its share be it any festival. What is due to the birthday boy or birthday girl will be gotten!

My son's birthday falls on 21st December. Since it is so near to christmas we push the celebration to christmas day. So we have extra cakes on christmas.

My husband's brother's birthday is the same week as Christmas. He always just got one more present under the tree wrapped differently and a birthday cake with ice cream. He hates it. He would like to pick another date so he can have a real birthday like everyone else.

I have friends who have birthdays very close - one on the 23rd. She finds it a bit annoying because people like to double up her presents and only give her one, a combination of xmas and b'day gift which is fair enough I guess because it can get expensive buying two gifts, just unlucky for her. Also birthday parties are a bit tough since everyone is wrapped up in teh Christmas buzz.

my grandson's birthday is on the 17th of december...so, for the month of december, it's a double celebration. double celebration means double preparation of parties...and huh! so...expensive! but to him he has double gifts too...one for his birthday and one for christmas time. but i think this double gift is good only when he is still a child, maybe when he grows old he will get only one....haha

My sons birthday is in december. we make a concentrated effort to make his birthday a huge deal with many presents and then make sure he gets just as many christmas gifts as the other kids. It takes some budgeting and planning, especially missing all the other holiday festivities but we want him to feel no less special than the others. I think that some people do get the short end of the deal tho. One of my friends bday is 12/26 and some forget it among the holidays. :(

We have this problem in my family. My nephews birthday is the 1st Jan. My brother on the 20th and my father on 30jan. Then mine is on 10 feb. I have heard of families where birthdays are even closer. It is a problem with expense, I guess, with having so many gifts to buy for christmas and then shortly after. My nephew only wants money, which Im not 100% happy about as Im sure he wastes it.

I don't know if its really annoying to have a birthday close to Christmas or not. I would think its really cool but then again the people will probably give you less presents because then you will have too many over the time. Good thing my Birthday is in June around the in between of Christmas. lol

Yes unfortunately my birthday is also close to Christmas, it's on December 16th. I have always felt gipped out of a good birthday since Christmas is so close. I wish mine was in the middle of some boring uneventful month so I could have something to look forward to then. No such luck though. :( On top of that my Mom and Papa's birthdays are also really close to mine, so it's like everything gets piled onto each other and we don't really get to fully celebrate every birthday and celebration. It sucks. When I have kid's I am going to try and plan it so none of their birthdays are close to December.
