I have! I would love to buy some land up in Idaho City area maybe and built a huge Victorian style mansion for me and my family to live out the rest of our days in. It would have about eight bedrooms with two of them suites on either end of the house for my daughter and I. It would have to have a wrap around porch with comfortable old rockers for people to set in and watch the animals, sunsets and sunrises. It would have an old fashioned library. The two story type with the ladder that slides around the room. A large size den on the third story where I would do my writing and probably would still work on here as well. It would have the back stairs to the kitchen where I could sneak down in the middle of the night and make me a sandwich if I wished to. And ofcourse it would have the beautiful victorian furniture. Old lamps and tapestries. Yes, it would have it all. Now what about your dream home?

Okay, when do we move in? I love your library vision since I could go for that too. Funny how my tastes have changed over the years. when I was younger I had envisioned myself in a really large English Tudor estate with lots and lots of rooms...I still love the Tudor style home but my tastes have downsized a bit. I love the glorified log cabin type look, with a cathedral ceiling in the living room...sort of like this photo which I love--oh and I would insist on a really, really large kitchen area with all the "trimmings"--have a photo of my dream kitchen as well

That sounds enchanting!
My dream house is a simple white clapboard two story farmhouse with a wrap around porch. Something that was built years and years ago with all the charms, except new stoves and a nice thorough chimney sweep. Hmm... It'd also have a library / study room, a game room where my husband and I would entertain our guests, four other bedrooms, a nice big spacious masterbath, and a good sized kitchen with an island. a staircase right near the front door, plenty of land, and a beautiful garden...
A few farm animals, chickens and horses mainly, and a lapdog... Cute children running around, an apple tree where I could pick apples and make apple pies, apple sauce and apple butter out of. A clothes line to hang the clothes...

You saying that made me think for some reason a picture of a New Orleans night. Mind You I've never been to New Orleans but I imagine several people with a banjo, and a fiddle, on the wrap around porch, some in rocking chairs and some not... some just sitting on the railings. Drinking ice cold tea, in bare feet and singing and a playing their instruments... That sounds nice.

I had my dream home but I lost my job and then I lost my home. No big deal, it was just a house. We travel a lot now so when we settle down we'll get a nice home. Its not a main priority now because we are doing other things. I just want to have a home that I can make some great memories in.

The way you said that, it sounds so wise and true. What makes a house a great house is the love and warm memories within it's walls.

You and I have the same tastes! I would love to have an older home with lots or room, high ceilings and furnished with all antiques. I love your idea of the library! I would prefer a setting of in the country with lots of land surrounding the house and/or on a hill!
Great vision and I'm with ya 100% on this one! Happy holidays!

I would like to have a house on the sea shore. Some time ago I stayed in a hotel, near the beach, and everyday, when I used to get up, I could see the beautiful sea shore, and in the distance all the ships and boats going.
I live in a coastal town, and about twenty years back, there were so many places available near the sea shore. It was quiet cheap at that time, and a lot of people just purchased the land and kept it. Today the prices have sky rocketed, and only the wealthy can afford the land by the sea shore.

mine should be far from the city, where there is fresh air and peaceful. the style is tropical so you can feel the presence of mother nature even inside. pouring water should be placed both outside and inside the house for harmony. windows should have a view of sunrise and sunset.

yeah who don't have a dream homes, I drive by the rich areas when I go shopping and there's a lot of great looking houses. I have been to a mansion that looked so tiny on the out side, but when you go inside its huge. has like three bed rooms downstairs and each with there own bathroom. the kitchen is huge. when you go upstairs there's three room upstairs and a living room like space, there's bathroom that has like a his and her sinks, then sort of like two showers in there own room with a door to close with a toilet in there. its was really nice. I would love to have a nice house like that, don't really need so many rooms probable wouldn't be in most of them if there was too many of them.

Yeah, I've dreamed about my dream home. A beutiful log cabin with 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, a huge 4 car heated garage, a heated painting booth for me to paint cars, and a smaller garage, just for our atv's and snowmobiles. I would want it miles apart from anyone or anything, so that we could do bond fires, play music and have fun with out anyone complaining of noise. Maybe someday.......

I would like to buy a thatched bungalow that is in a rural position and is by the sea. It would have a kitchen, a lounge, a study, a play room, a bathroom and four bedrooms. Outside I would have a summer house overlooking the ocean. It would be situated somewhere in the South West of England.
If I had a dream house built overseas. It would be a tall tree house with a palm leaf thatched roof. It would have amazing views of tropical beaches from the top floor of it. It would have a lounge, a kitchen and several bedrooms. I would have a shower room as well. It would be located near to a palm fringed beach. It might be situated somewhere in Central America, Possibly Costa Rica.

My dream home would have solar, wind, and water powered. There would be a huge old fashioned water wheel on the side. The wind would be farther away and part of the garage. The solar would be on the roof if I lived where there was no snow. I'd never need the grid and I would kiss the power companies good-bye. My car would get a charge from the wind and I would kiss foreign oil good-bye. I would be high up and see everything for miles, the mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys.
I would have a huge kitchen with smells of something baking or cooking coming out of it. There would be wood stoves on each end of the house with a fire brick that would make it so that I could put wood in and it would heat the brick and I wouldn't have to put more wood in for 8 hours because of the radient heat coming from the brick.
I'd have a library with books on plants, survival, alternate energy, food, cooking, exercise, everything that I love, a craft room with everything organized so I could see it at a glance, a dance room with beautiful maple wooden floors, a huge living room to entertain people, secret passageways so I could appear out of no where or flee if I had to, a loft for sleeping, a huge greenhouse with even fruit trees in it and all the foods that I love growing there, my very own garden of Eden. My husband would have a workshop attached to the garage where he could make everything we need of the wood and tinsmith stuff. Plus an old time forge for blacksmithing next to that (he wants to get into that). A barn with animals for milk, eggs, wool, mohair, and angora. I think that about does it. What do you think? Could you live there?

I have always wanted to have a victorian style home. The ones where I live at are very old and also very expensive though. In my dream house I will have 3 bedrooms, guest room, art room, library, theater room for movie nights, sitting room and a play room for the kids to play in when the weather is too bad outside. But I also wish to live in the city. I'm bored of the country.

Yes I do. I would like to have a one storey house with sufficient rooms for all members. A garden in front of the house would be lovely. I have not thought of the design for the house. I would let the architect show me some designs and I might select one from them.
