Hi everyone! As an avid reader I was wondering what everyone's favorite book was and their favorite author? My favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark so I love any book by her, I only care for a few that are by her and her daughter, I can tel the difference between their writing and I like Mary's better. The first book I ever read of her's was "I'll Be Seeing You" I read it for 9th grade summer reading way back in the day and from that point on I fell in love with her books. I also love books by James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks, their both great authors. I've also enjoyed "The Brushstroke Legacy" by Laurie Snelling I believe is the author, "Tuesday's With Morrie" by Mitch Alborm, The Harry Potter Series and the Twilight Saga. I love to read, I'll try to read anything once, even a new author, you'll never know if you like a certain author unless you try reading his or her books. As a child I loved The Babysitter's Club Series, Goosebumps Series, "The Trumpet Of The Swan" and "Charlotte's Web", the last two which were by E.B. White. So what about all of you, what's your favorite book or books and your favorite author or authors?

For right now, my favorite series would have to be the House of Night series by PC Cast. I'm just so into it right now because of its plot. There's just something about it that attracts me to the series. I can't really put my finger on it. All I can say is that I like it more than the Twilight series.

Thanks for your response, I've never heard of that series or the author, I loved Twilight though, and I'm not usually into all those fantasy/vampire type books. I thought I was going to hate the Saga at first but I ended up loving it.

I also like Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine. I am an adult but I enjoy reading any of the books that these authors write.

Stephen King is definitely at the top of my list when it comes to favourite authors! I have just finished reading 'Salem's Lot' by Stephen King and this book is always a good read, that's if you love horror! I also like Mary Higgins Clark, I like some of her writings as they are based on family and things like that, I can definitely escape into a good book written by her. I also like Clive Barker and Dean Koontz, alternative horror writers! I don't have the whole collection that Stephen King has written to date but I'm slowly working on improving that! Happy new year! Hi, Andrew, Thanks for responding, I just got this now lol. I've never read Stephen King as I'm not too fond of horror books but I would like to read The Green Mile by him since I loved the movie and the book is usually always better than the movie. Movies tend to leave out a lot of details which stinks! My best friend whom I live with loves Stephen King and owns most of his books, she also likes Dean Koontz as well, whom I've also never read along with the Clive Barker you mentioned. Thanks again for sharing and happy mylotting!

Thanks for your response! You like a lot of the same books I do minus Stephen King but I would like to read The Green Mile by him, I saw the movie and it was great so I'd love to read the book because they always leave so much detail out of the movies. I've read the Sweet Valley High series before, it's a cool series as well as Sabrina.

I love the Highland Saga from Diana Gabaldon. I also read the Lord John series by the same author as I really like her writing style. I thought the Highland Series was finished but just noticed on Amazon that a new and last book is coming out in a few days. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've never really been into Danielle Steel but my mom read some of her books and my best friend's mom loves her books as well. Obviously, she's a great and well known author they just aren't my type of books but everyone likes different types of books authors. That's cool about the Twilight Saga, it's a very good set of books and well worth the time and money if you buy them, even if you go to the library their worth it as well.

my favorite author is Charles Dickens. Favorite book is Tale between Two Cities. I also enjoy Mitch Albom - Tuesdays with Morrie, The five people you meet in heaven. When I was a child my favorite was Judy Blume! She seemed so in touch with her readers. I did pick up a book by Nicholas sparks and enjoyed it but I'm really not so into romance which is how I see his writing. I really like mitch albom because is more about a moral point. He want to tell his readers his experience yet try to drive the theme home about the moral point he is making. I also like Johnathan livingston seagull - but I doubt the book is in print anymore.

Hi, Thanks for your response. I received "Tuesday's With Morrie" for a birthday gift back in 2004 from one of my brother's friends that had told me about the book. He bought it for me and gave it to me as a gift, the book was amazing and I'm so happy I own a copy because I'd love to read it again one day. I learned a lot from that book and it was a great story that everyone should read. I haven't read his book "Seven People You Meet In Heaven" I believe that's the title of it but I have read "Wednesday Letter's" and I own the book as well, if you haven't read it you should, it was a great story and not too sappy on the love part. I'm glad to hear your into the HP and Twilight books, those we're great to read, I've never heard of J.R. Ward though I'll have to look into that author and the other you mentioned.

My all time favorite book is "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith. I first read it when I was in elementary school, and I introduced it to my children when they were about the same age. Both of them absolutely love the book and have passed it on to their spouses. Eventually I'm sure they'll give it to their children to read. It's a wonderful, timeless story.

You know, I honestly don't know if I can pick a favorite author. I used to say Frank Peretti was my favorite author and that his book "This Present Darkness" was my favorite, but that was in middle school when I was really into reading supernatural thrillers. Now I'm more into high fantasy, and there are loads of books and authors in that genre that I like but none I actually feel like claiming is my favorite yet. A few of the authors I like are Terry Brooks, Anne McCaffery, J. R.R. Tolkien, Ursula Le Guin, Karen Hancock, Byran Davis, Donita K. Paul, and Ted Dekker.

I absolutely love the book "Conversations with God" by Donald Walsh Neale. Another favorite is a book by Napoleon Hill and The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Peale. I tend to enjoy books that encourage a person to understand him/herself or others better. I don't really enjoy novels or fiction. I read a lot of non-fiction books. The only fiction books I love are romance novels. I am a big fan of romantic books. I use to buy Harlequin books when I was younger. Today I have many authors that appeal to me in the romance genre.
