Can you say you honestly like your job? Would you like to find a better one or go to school to further your education so you can find a job you'll enjoy and can make great money at? I know there are some people who are unhappy with their jobs, right now I wish I could just find one in this current US economy, I've been unemployed for over a year, I haven't been able to go to college yet because of the cost but I will go no matter what age I'm at, I'm only 24 right now but I do know what I want to go for which is great. It's never been an option for me not to go it's just the cost and I don't have a car right now which would make it hard where I live because the buses don't run enough either. Right now I wish I could just find a job even if it was fast food so I could pay the bills and be able to have some fun once in a while.
I hope to start a great discussion with this topic, happy mylotting!!

I can honestly say it doesnt matter if you love your job. It really doesnt. You can love your job or you can hate you job. It doesnt matter. THE THING IS...Does your job love you back? At any minute, due to this economy, that job could lay you off just like that. I doesnt matter if you worked there for 11 years or 5 years or whatever. It doesnt even matter if you are related to them. They can just fire you before you can even say ANYTHING. Its that easy for them to fire you.
Thats why many people look for a plan B, a back up plan. They look for home based jobs or search for anything and any opportunities. As of right now, NO OFFENSE..but jobs dont do anybody justice. Jobs...can easily fire you as they can hire you.Its more competitive.
I hope that starts an interesting discussion! =]

No its about money, you work because you earn money if you didn't earn money, you wouldn't servive in todays life, you couldn't eat, drink, you would afford to put a roof over your head, everything costs money.
Work isn't for pieceful mind and health because its clinicly proven that work causes stress and stress causes illness.
And for piece you need to be relaxed and work isn't relaxing eather, sorry to disagree but you don't need work for the things you stated, you just need it for money.
If you could sit at home in front of the TV or do somthing you enjoy AND get paid for it, you would, no one would go to work to earn money.

Yes, I honestly like it. I don't like the fact that sometimes bosses behave incorrectly towards me such as not getting back to me or not telling me they want something until the day before they want it. However, mostly I'm not complaining. Of course, the money could be a little better but isn't that the case with everything?

I can not complain. I work through my local hospital as an in home aide. I sit with my husband's great grandmother and basically just make sure she eats, is doing fine, and I clean for her.
I've had other jobs that I hated a lot worse, this one is a piece of cake and though I have to get up early, I can sit all day if I wanted to as long as I got the chores that needed to be done done.

yes, I do like my job, but I don't really like my income. So, basically the same situation as yours.
I am a translator and interpretor (Chinese-English), I do have education but I don't have professional certificate. I don't get good income, but it is just ok for surviving, can't saving any money.
I understand that the overall economic situation is not so good, so people all want to have a job. At least a job can bring some money, better than nothing.
You are still young, and if possible, you can work and study some professional skills. That's most helpful for getting a job.
Don't worry about car. There are people who really survive without a car. It is hard, but some people have to gain everything from nothing.
Work hard and have good expectation to be better, good luck!
Merry Christmas!

First of all good luck with your job hunt. You're young so, give it some time and things will get better. Do some research concerning work or career options, I'm sure one day you will find the right career for you. This is from a 57 year old who has been there.
I have to say, yes I love my job. I'm a nurse, I work with Cancer patients in Clinical Trials. It can be difficult, because we have some patients who do not make it, yet we have many who do, I do believe in miracles. I have a long family history of Cancer, so this is something I have always wanted to do. It just seems like it is the right fit for me. Also it is a Monday through Friday job. I like that alot. Weekends off!

Honestly? Some days I enjoy my work, other days I don't. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and sometimes more in control, so that makes a big difference. I'm nearing retirement age, but don't know when I will be able to retire, or if I really want to after all. I am glad to be able to work, though.

I am fortunate because I have been self-employed all my working life. I was first of all a musician, but then things weren't so good in the music business so I re-trained and became a therapist about 20 years ago. This is something that I have always loved doing. - Derek

Well dear, I really like my job because it gives me satisfaction when I am able to complete the work timely and appropriately. You are only 24 now. As you grow older you will gain lots of experience. Wish you all the luck for finding a job and completing your education.

I do like my job, it's pleasant for the most part and pretty easy. I love giving good customer service. I am a bank teller. However, I am NOT happy with the pay I receive.
I wish I had money to go back to school. I am thinking about becoming a fitness trainer, but I have some debt I need to pay off first. I may need to get a second job which I was trying to avoid, but times are very tough right now for me (and lots of people).
At least I do get referral commission as a bonus in addition to my straight hourly pay, so I try to get everyone to open accounts! : )
Happy holidays!

I like my past job. But now I'm unemployed, I don't work since I married because my husband don't allow me to work. He want me to stay home with our kids. I'm not used to stay home before but now I'm liking this way. I don't trust my kids to nanny I don't like the idea that they are the one who give the care what my kids need. I want it to come from me.

I want to say, at first, i like my job because i can learn a lot from it and this can not be learned at school.
But now, i have do the job for nearly 3 years,i found many affairs is not legal, but this is the situation all around the society, even if i change a job, it will still face this problems. And 3 years at the same position, i feel a little boring, i want to learn more useful things, not how to play tricks ...
So i consider to change a job later...

I get under-paid by the state to take care of my mom. It is a tough job and it hurts so much to see my mom suffer day after day and wither away.
So, although I love my mom and am glad I HAVE a pay check, I hate my job.

I like my current job since I get good payment from it. Aside from that, I also don't need to go out of the house to work. I am just working inside my room with the use of my computer. I don't even need to work for 8 hours a day. I am an online teacher so my schedule also depends on the students' availability. I used to have 1-4 lessons a day and each lesson comprises of 45 minutes. I also have 1-2 days off a week. And with that, I can say that this job is really hassle-free. But, of course, this is not my real profession. This is not the kind of job I wished to have for the rest of my life. I want to be a nurse with masters degree and with a business of my own. I also have a problem with this job. My capital is my voice and I often overuse it that's why I have recurrent laryngitis. I want to stop this job as soon as I can have enough savings for my future.

Hello, Sahsports, Maybe i can share my experience with you on the job hunting.Three years ago, after university graduation, i enter a venture company and work for 3 year until this July. Everybody consider that job should be satisfied, since the welfare and salary is not bad. However, i prefer to resign and find another better at such economic crisis period. Maybe it is really not a wise decision or maybe i was too naughty, it is quite difficult for me to find a better job until this Nov.During this several months period, i shift 3 job and the feeling was so confused disappointed and depressed, which have never experience before. And now my suggestion for you is to find a potential job whick you have interest and be willing to make effort on it. Only with such job, you will be happy and won't waist yout time.
