They are competitors. Actually my cat Smyles likes Petsmart better because they have better toys. Smyles also likes to look at the other cats, dogs, mice and birds. He really wants a new playmate (his two older sisters are not enough he wants a brother), but he is not getting a new playmate. Petco has more supplies such as fish food, but they do not have any pers.

I don't know about ALL Petco's and Petsmart's, but out of all the ones I've been to Petco's usually have a bigger variety of ready to adopt small animals (birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, lizards, snakes, fish, etc.) and Petsmart's usually team up with the local humane society or animal shelters and bring ready to adopt dogs and cats on weekends.

it would be pet smart. Petsmart and petco are the exact same thing. rivals even! I used to work for petsmart and we couldnt do a treat bar because petco does that. Dont they sell pets and pet supplies? Dont petsmart sell pets and pet supplies?... yep... treat bar or not... their the same to me!
btw... look at the petsmart logo the ball bounces in the middle of pet and smart, kinda giving you the idea that it pet-smart... thats how i had it figured out before i worked there.
