hi there people, there is a bread shop near my home and sometimes i buy the paste for pizza, and i make it but the only thing i've to do i s to add tomato and cheese, maybe other ingredients. Once i tryed to make pizza paste at home but it was too dried and my pizza was bad. And what about you? Have you ever tryed to make pizza on your own at home? Thank you for your responses :)

I make pizza at home with regularity. I make the dough and shape the crust myself because I prefer whole-grain bread, and I make my own sauce as well, generally preferring white sauce over tomato, although I do add fresh tomatoes on the top, right under the pecorino and olives!

I tried to make pizzas at home. But its really not as good as the ones served at pizza Restaurants. I guess you can't imitate them. My crust is just awful. So i would rather go purchase a pizza at a restaurant like Pizza Hut.

The last time I tried to make a pizza was in a cookery class in school and that was just using a pre-made base lol. I would like to give it a go though because when you make something yourself you have more say into what goes into it and can control the calories, fat etc more.

Well I never tried but a friend of mine and my sister are really good at it. It takes so much time to prepare it and then if its hard or the taste is not according to your tasts buds it looks bad and then the family of our is such that they would start makign fun so its better to order and eat it

I tried to make pizza with disastrous consequences. LOL
Not only did I waste so much money, but nearly burnt the house down and the pizza was as hard as rocks - Failed attempt.

I have never tried to make pizza at home on a normal crust, but I often make mini pizza's on english muffins with just sauce, mozzarella & pepperoni. Very easy and quick. Was something my mom used to make with my sister and I growing up.

I do the same. The great thing is that I have found this ready pizza sauce available. So all I need to do is put the paste on the though and put my favorite toppings. Its really great. But of course, I do not take the credit for the good taste. The past is already flavored and all I did is just bring them together.

We made it using boboli (a kind of bread) and canned pizza sauce and cheese. Wasn't bad...

I have never made a pizza at home from scratch. Once and a while my parents used to buy those frozen already-made pizzas, but those aren't the same. However, when I toook home ech, I made home made Pizza. The dough and ingredints were pre-done, but the creating, and baking was all me. Now I can't eat Pizza unless it lacks tomato sauce.

I make pizza at home but I dont make my own crust, instead I buy commercial pizza crust in the grocery. I usually make hawaiian pizza since its the most simplest one to make. I put ready made hawaiian pizza sauce from Del Monte, then put ham slice, pineapple tidbits, bell pepper and cheese. Then I bake it in the oven for 20-30 minutes.

Everyone has great ideas that they have shared! I am going to add my tips and suggestions to the discussion. I have made pizza at home before using different methods. The french bread pizza is the easiest by far. I like to use Prego sauce for the pizza sauce. It is already pretty thick but does not dry to quickly and it tastes great. Jiffy's Pizza Mix that comes in a box. To make the dough you add water and let it rise. This is probably my favorite pizza crust dough, but it is kind of tricky to find Jiffy Pizza Mix at the grocery store. Pillsbury makes a good dough in a tube that you just have to unwrap and press out on a cookie sheet.
My best tip for a crispy crust is that you dust the pan with yellow meal. The corn meal helps to absorb the moisture and avoid having a soggy crust. It really does work if you dust the pan with corn meal; then place the pizza crust on top you will get a crispier crust.
