Physical appearance is of course, not the only thing needed for you to be accepted and loved by someone you love. But, I still think that it is an important factor because it can increase the level of our confidence. If we think we are beautiful enough in the eyes of the one we truly love, then there would be no reason for us to get jealous and insecure. On the other hand, if we are not confident about our physical appearance then we might think of ourselves as a little inferior than others which causes us to feel very insecure and insecurity is one of the reasons why couples break up with each other. I am not saying that we should be born to be beautiful but at least we must try to enhance the beauty that is innate within us. Let us take care of ourselves and our beauty as well.

I believe that beauty isn't the most important factor to obtain- as looks don't last forever. It is evident that personality and knowledge does last longer then beauty- so it is my strong opinion that it is more important to have knowledge and a good personality- rather then being one to obsess over appearence of not just yourself, but also other people.
I do think self maintainence is important, though that doesn't come over the 'vain' catergory, it comes under self respect- which is you do whats best for yourself- so your happy inside and out, which in turn helps you to not be insercure and jealous.
I do believe that everyone carries a certain beauty, and we should not compare one another- we should all be treated as equals = )

I definitely think physical beauty is not a very important thing. Someone can be stunning on the outside but very ugly on the inside. Then again, someone might not be so attractive but could be the nicest and funniest person... Also, people's opinion of beauty differs, so one person might think someone is attractive while another person doesn't think so.

I too go with you as even i too received the same answers from my friend circle. Physical appearance is the initial thing but later it as least important that there no consideration for the physic.
