If your bloodtype cannot tolerate metabollically any animal protein than becoming vegetarian is wise; if not, eat meat ! Check into your bloodtype and what kinds of food your specific body tolerates and efficiently creates energy & nutrition from before committing yourself to a diet that might harm you more than make you healthy.
Just words of caution from me . . .

I really cannot agree with you on that, Erica.
D'Adamo & Whitney (Eat right for your type : complete blood type encyclopedia) almost exclusively give "beneficial" or "neutral" to the different varieties of animal flesh for bloodgroup O and nearly all "avoid" or "neutral" for the other 3 bloodgroups (A, B, AB). For bloodgroup O, it gives mostly "avoid" for dairy products.
If I had the least bit of confidence in this "diet according to bloodtype" business, I would eating the exact opposite of what I have been eating (successfully and healthily) as an O-type, for the last 31 years.
I'm not going to come out and say that it's totally a pseudoscience, but I'll just say I'm extremely skeptical about it, based on what I've read in that book.

I'm vegetarian, but not vegan.
I decided to become vegetarian when I was a child, I saw the grandmother of a friend of mine quartering a rabbit and I was so frightened that I decided not to eat living beings anymore, so, when I was of age and I went to live alone, I became vegetarian.
I'm vegetarian for ethical reasons and I'm happy to be so.
