What do you think about IMReportCard.com not accepting new users from some countries?
I just tried joining today and learned that they don't accept users from my country (Philippines) as well as these countries:
India
Lithuania
Malaysia
Nigeria
Pakistan
Singapore
According to their FAQ (http://imreportcard.com/faqs.cgi#42), they've received a "tremendous amount of fraudulent and inappropriate use of IMReportCard from the said countries" and figured that the best way of dealing with the situation is to not accept users from these countries.
They admit that it "doesn't seem fair".
I find myself frustrated and a bit disappointed. I'm a responsible netizen myself but because of where I'm from, I cannot participate fully in some websites. Which is a shame, because IMReportCard seems like an awesome website for my recent interest (online opportunities).
Anyway, what do you think about IMReportCard's tactic of not accepting users from specific countries? Should this be followed by other websites who deal with fraudulent/inappropriate activity as well?

hi wired! I'm a bit sad about it too...hopefully they will change their rules in terms of accepting applicants. But, if they don't allow us then it is what it is. There are other opportunities out there than can work for us, just hope for the best.
Happy Lotting!

though it accepts members from all those countries it isnt easy to earn there coz you hav eto try some products to write a review and most of the products they ask for reviewing are new(they never knew those) to many of the members of that site.its unfortunate that they do not accept especially from asian countries.good day.

Thanks for the additional information on IMRC. It's kind of sad that some sites don't accept users from Asian countries like mine. :) Happy holidays and happy myLotting! :)

I think it's a hard thing to get accepted by imreportcard. I've tried it before and i've give the most accurate details but still they rejecting my application. I think the countries are more than listed here. I think this site seems only give more chance for certain countries which are big countries such as USA, UK, or others, but not small of poor countries. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Hi, Bart78! Good luck to us! I think I'll wait until they open up their website to the Philippines. If it's not too much of a bother, let me know how your request goes. :)

It is indeed unfair that IMReportCard.com does not accept new users from some countries. I myself am a Filipino as well and find this tactic very very frustrating. I mean, not all people from our country are "cheaters", right? Seems really unfair. However, I did some research on the internet and found some sites that teach others how to "make $20 a day for an hours work with IMRC". Seems interesting because the minimum payout of IMRC is only $20. (that means, cashing out every single day!) The sites I happened to stumble upon gives away free e-books/pdf files that provide the "secret method". However, the method they provide is illegal.
One method was (for international users..especially for those who live in the "banned countries" of IMReportCard) to get a FAKE US IP ADDRESS. Next, was to get a FAKE US IDENTITY. Lastly, was to set up a new account with PayPal and IMRC with your FAKE US IDENTITY. They even give you the sites to where you can get all the fake stuff and they tell you to share the "secret method" with everyone. A lot of people are doing this and have been earning $20 a day with this method. But more and more people as well are getting banned from IMRC because of fake IP addresses and all. (It is stated in their terms of service..once you get caught, and they WILL catch you, you get banned)
So, if ever you come across this "secret method" online or what, I warn you, no matter how tempting it is..STAY AWAY FROM IT! It is NOT worth it! You'll just get banned and with more people getting banned from our country, the longer it will take for us to get off that "black list" of theirs. Just be patient, maybe they will accept users from our country soon. Cheers! and advance HAPPY NEW YEAR!:)

It may not seem fair, but I think they are on the right track. It may be wrong for those who know how to use the net responsibly, but they need to be careful as well. Any one of those users that caused the trouble could end up inviting even more trouble in the long run.
Banning cirtin countries is easier on their servers then trying to track down and ban indoviual ip adresses.
perhaps they may restore sign-up if they can find a way to strengthen their secerity.
Sounds to me like a simple server secerity issue and banning sign ups from cirtin parts of the world where the sever secerity could be week is the safest salution.

Thanks for the insight, kaylachan. :) IMReportCard is a new site, maybe it was easier for them to deal with spammers/security issues by simply banning countries with the most spammers/violators.
Thanks for adding to the discussion and happy holidays! :)
