Is your pizza shrinking in size?

Yesterday was Xmas eve and I ordered my favourite pizza and when I opened it, it's looks like it had shrink tremendously. But I was too hungry to think about anything and I just ate them. The advertisement said it was meant for 4-6 person but I think it's was just right for 2-3 person servings.
Then I remembered about a report previously that someone actually complaint that after they measured their pizza, it was smaller by 2" than what was advertised. I should have do it yesterday! Would you measure your pizza to make sure what you got was what you ordered?

I used to work for Pizza Hut. I was on the phones and that was the most common complaint, custmers arguing with me claiming they got the wrong sized pizza. In my opinion I don't think that the Pizza itself is shrinking per say, but people's expetations as to what they think they should be getting.
For example a pizza advertized to feed four to six people may be true if it is a family that ate smaller portions in one setting, (ex: two adults and two to three children) But, when you're by yourself, or with maybe one or two friends you may be inclined to eat more for one setting then say a larger family. However, the actual size of the Pizza remains the same.

Thats a very good question but honestly speackign it never come to my mind but this is something I have been thinking for quite some time now. I believe they would ave reduce the size of the pan thats one of the reason. But check this out the prices are still going high every passing day

You are right , me and a friend of mine always go out and we take turns in offering eachother dinners or lunch etc. We mostly go to a place to have pizza and they offer half off during such and such time. It was really difficult to have finish the pizza and we always get it packed but now the times are different and it changes so much that one has to watch out before spending a penny.

Oh I see. That's so nice of you and your friends. In the past, there was pizza buffet and me and my peers always go for that as we can get to eat a lot of different pizza and at our required quantity. Now, the place no longer have that and we have to order a standard size and unless we are really not that hungry, else, most of the time, the personal size and the regular size cannot make us feel full.

i think they're all starting to do that to save money.
even the frozen pizzas seem to be shrinking.
i have one pan i use all the time to cook them, and it doesn't line up to where it
used to.

i usually get frachetta or di giorno-and both seem to have gotten smaller.
neither is near what i'd call "family size" anymore.

I think it matters also the time the pizza was cooked and the time it takes to deliver the pizza. But I do have seen that the pizza in my favorite pizza shop has been reduced. This is to compensate for the rise in prices of commodities. So instead of increasing the price, they just adjusted the size.

I have been witness to the family size pizzas being wasted in restaurants and I am glad that pizsas are now being reduced in size. Today's family consists at the most 4 and the earlier size could go round for 8. America is slowly becoming practical.

You will not believe this but here in the forum I had talked about pizzas size in one of my questions and had even suggested that there should be a ban on large sizes. It looks as though the US authoriries read my suggestion

Oh I see! Haha, maybe they too paid much attention on citizen's welfare. Here in my country, we seldom see wastage because we get charged extras for wasting food as well which I think is good as it will prevent people from taking too much. And also, Merry Xmas to you!

L.O..L. Funny but not. I always order either a medium or large and sometimes the medium does look like a large which I am happy with that! But I know what your'e talking about I have seen it happen to co-workers but I have to say it has never happened to me. I always order only from a couple of Pizza places that I know is quality for the price and size. There is some Pizza places that I would never ever order from again in my life! And when I do place the order I know exactly what I am going to get size and price
