Well, we all have different and unique fun tradtions we do for the holidays.
1.For me, my family always puts up a nativity set. we each have our own, but we also have one family one. And we don't put Jesus inside it until the first star seen on Xmas eve, signifying tat Jesus has been born.
2.We do not eat meat on xmas eve becuz back then meat was reserved only for the rich, and so we eat mainly only fish, which was the common thing eaten, and wat Jesus would have eaten. We eat meat on Xmas day.
3.We put these light up houses on the bottom of our xmas tree, like a mini village.
4.We get our presents on Xmas Eve, after we eat. Not christmas day.
5.Xmas eve is more important in our family than xmas day.
So, how are the traditions in ur family? Are they intersting? something special u do every year with ur family? Please share.

Hi cher: I forgot we also go to church. There is a special mass to celebrate the Christmas day, we have the option to go to the church the 24 December at 10 pm or next day during the day. It's a special mass where we celebrate Jesus birth. Thanks for your answer. By the way, there is another discussion here in mylot where you can find what the boxing day is.
Thanks for your answer. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. Take Care.

Hi wigima: I think your Xmas traditions are very interesting even more interesting than mines i think. In our case, we have our familiar nativity but we don't put the baby Jesus until Dec 25 in the midnight, that means the exactly moment where Xmas day starts. We don't have our dinner until midnight because for us the special day we are celebrating is the Xmas day. I think that's it. Thanks for asking me this question. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. Take Care.

Besides the usual family things I'm sure most people do we have one of having a Christmas Eve pizza. it started many years ago and every eve we make a few pizzas. We have even busted out presents early to cook them, the pizza oven one year and the pizza spinner thing another year. The brand isn't always the same but we always have pizza on Christmas Eve.

I am no longer living at home and I haven't seen my family in several years. The last holiday I spent with them was before I left. However, I remember all the traditions that we've done.
First thing christmas morning My family would bake sweet roles and we'd drink that with coco. After our "breakfast" We would open presents from "santa" then our family members who lived nearby would come over and share presents they had for us. After that I'd clean my room and orgnize things to make room for the new gifts. Later that afternoon we'd have a thanksgiving-like meal. And, somewhere in the mix we would attend mass. Though it was not always the same time every year. I hated the years when my family decided to go to midnight mass. I was less then happy with thoues... and a total bit...ch the next morning.

We too have a different Christmas tradition
1. We have 9 dawn masses before Christmas day and when you will be able to complete it, your wishes will come true, they said. But I already have a share of answered prayers then through these masses.
2. We celebrate a mass 3 hours prior to Christmas eve.
3. We celebrate Christmas with sweets and other stuffs.
4. We give our gifts on Christmas eve and open it during the new year.
Those are the things we usually do.

Well I spend all day Christmas Eve listening to Christmas Music/watching various Christmas specials on television. Then on Christmas morning, I open presents with my parents. Then the grandparents on my father's side of the family later in the morning. And then the grandparents on my mother's side of the family in the afternoon. Then whatever time I have, I enjoy what I got and then resolve to find a place to put everything during the next day.
