Hi Zaharul, from the list there I've only ever been to Spain. The last time was when I crossed over from Portugal and found that to be friendlier overall. I thought that the friendliest country I've ever visited was Turkey. Here in Greece it is very friendly too if you smile.

Definitely Sandra, we were invited to lunch and they even came and collected us. I met a really interesting Turkish journalist too from Istanbul in some quaint little village, the people were really hospitable. Only problem was the holes in the ground.

Hello, Thea. Agree with you on Turkey - it's very friendly. We had complete strangers asking us to their house for a meal. Unfortunately, we couldn't go, as we had a very early start next morning, and a friend who spends a lot of time in Turkey told us we'd be lucky to get back to the hotel before daybreak, as once you're in a Turkish house they won't allow you to go until everyone is falling asleep! A smile works well here in Spain as well!

Hi there, that's so nice to know... but I hope Philippines will also be included in the list in the future. Filipinos are hospitable in many ways that tourist keep returning back to Philippines. Anyway, some friends told me that Malaysia is a friendly and a very nice country. Cheers for Malaysia.

I think that the list of the friendliest countries is interesting and enjoyable to read. Out of those countries I have been to Australia and it is very friendly indeed. I have also been to Malaysia and it is ever so friendly. I have been to South Africa, Hong Kong and Singapore. I was helped by people in Malaysia when I fell down the open drain. They were kind to me in Singapore. My list of the friendliest countries I have been to are: 1. Australia 2. Singapore 3. Malaysia 4. Fiji 5. Nicaragua 6. Cook Islands 7. USA 8. Finland 9. Spain 10. Belize

I has a whole shelf with all my travel photos on. I have lots of memories of all the lovely countries that I have been to. I am excited about visiting Canada in 2010. It is a country that I have always wanted to go to.

The only place I have been to outside my country Philippines is Canada. Yes, I can truly say that Canadians are friendly in nature. You can walk anywhere on the street and see smiling faces from strangers passing by. A lot of them also says hello and good day. They also appreciate asian foods. I was on the park with friends on Canada day 2009 and saw a Filipino food booth with the longest line. I was surprised that they like our noodles (pancit), pork barbeque and spring rolls.

I'm from the Philippines and I'm sad that our country is not in the list. I've been to Hong Kong and I must say the people there are very friendly. I'd like to visit the other countries in the list.. maybe Canada or the US.

Oh , Canada is on the list, in No. 2 position ! That's nice ! I have been to a number of countries in different parts of the world. People of different nationalities and cultures are very friendly and courteous in their traditional ways. One country I was quite impressed with was Thailand, known as the "Land of Smiles". Yes, indeed, people are so nice and friendly.

I see.well 7 countries are somewhat acceptable for me and i have found Malaysia & Singapore to be my favorite one's,not just because i went there, but because of the People which are Nice, well behaving and disciplined.therefor i would love to go there Again.however i went to Thailand, several times and lived there for a year because we had business in Bangkok,so i must say that Thailand isn't bad at all but not good as Malaysia and Singapore, plus Canada seems also very nice as i heard about there from my friends.however Hong kong cannot be considered as good due to unfriendly behavior of its people and there pride.and i am not sure about Spain..... but Negative ones are 3. 1.USA which is not suitable for the List not because of its people, but due to its foreign policy and crime rate is also high there.. 2.South Africa which is the most vulnerable and Hostile place, due to Highest Crime Rate.. 3.Australia where many Racial Attacks took place within last few years.. I am surprised that the list you got is differing the reality besides there are several other countries i have heard to be more friendly then these ones...!

Hello, Zaharul. I've only been to Spain and the United States off your list. I found the Americans in Florida very friendly. When we were in queues for rides at Disneyworld they let us go ahead when they knew we were British, and when my then husband had a minor bump in our hire car, the guy he ran into was thrilled because he'd been involved in an accident with an Englishman. He said all his friends would be jealous! Spain, where we now live, is really friendly, and it would be much higher on my list of friendly countries. I love living here, and we've been made very welcome. Mind you, we are trying to learn the language and we mix with the locals, so that makes a difference.

I've never been to any of those countries. When I saw the list in a Yahoo! article, I was surprised that the Philippines is not part of it. I was expecting that our country would at least make it to the top 5, but it didn't. Our country has been well-known for the hospitality of the Filipinos, and that is one reason why we have a lot of foreign tourists coming in every year.

There is biased in the report you see south Africa is not a freinly country likewise singapore, why singapore monitor non nationals callings when in singapore. You can text message from your phone to another country with singapore mobile line which kind of friend is that ?

India is not on that list either.I think 'friendliness' is culture defined. In india we seldon greet strangers on the roads while passing by each other. However, if I need some help ,like directions, I'm sure that stranger on the road will be more than glad to help me if he can. I think people all over the world are basically very similar, only our cultures and behaviours differ.

Canada is number 2 because Canada is Friendly. There is no discrimination about Gay Rights in Canada. We evolved past that many years ago. Many Homosexuals come here from the US to get married. Women have equal rights with men. This is old news in Canada. We are multilingual and our charter is written in both French and English. We are very proud to have free speech and freedom of the press. We also have Abortion Rights because religion is separate from the rule of law. Canada is number 2 in Friendliness for these reasons.
