Did you receive a lot of cards this year

We only received 15 this year. It seems like each year the number gets smaller and smaller. I know I sent out about 30 this year. I also posted it on my facebook, since I didn't have a lot of my facebook friend's addresses. I can remember as a kid, our front door would be filled and my mom would be trying to find other places to put them. Is it because people are trying to be more green, or the economy, or both?

We received about the same amount of cards as you did. They were relly nice from people we really loved, and who really meant something to us. As far as we are concerned, we're more interested in who the cards are coming from, than the final amount of cards that we received. I didn't send a lot this year either, for the same reason.

Oh, I agree it more important who you receive the cards from not how many. I am surprised at some of our close friends who didn't send any. Thanks for the response.

I think we received 12 cards? I don't know how many we sent out as my husband and I did not personally send them out. One card we received had mine and my husband's name but not our last name and didn't have a signature. It took us a bit but we figured out it was someone in the family when they asked about it. It had money in it too, which we were surprised and glad about.

hi kimbers 867 I think its the bad economy and too I got just three and sent out more, but got a dozen gorgeous card on the net that were truly beautiful.however one caution, be careful in getting these, have a good virus protection as some unscrupulous people put viruses in some of these cards. happy New Year.

We didn't get as many as last year. We got around 15, but that is probably my own faulth though rather than the economy. I have not had time the last 3 years to send any out or to even reply to those who send them out. I was going to turn that around this year and be diligent about getting them out, but my son had to have surgery and we had a lot of post and pre surgical appointments, so it became pretty difficult.

So sorry to hear that your son had to have surgery. I know it is hard to get cards out just if life is going normal. I was able to get mine addressed while I was working and I was on a break. Thanks for the response.

Christmas 2010 is only ten days away. I have not received any Christmas cards yet this season and it is unlikely that I will receive any at all. This is the first year that I have decided not to mail any cards out. Last year, I mailed them out after Thanksgiving and received very few back. This year, if I receive a caed, I will mail one in return. I am doing this to save money as well as a couple other reasons.

I did not receive a whole lot of cards this year. I received about 7 or 8 of them and that was about it. That is enough for me though. I like getting cards from those who are close to me.

well i tend not to send a whole lot anymore just because the stamps are so expensive here in Canada and with hubby not having a job, we just have enough to make ends meet. we probably got about the same amount as you did this year.

I received 5 christmas cards this year, 4 of them were from Denmark and one of them was from India. 3 of the Danish cards came from some of my close friends, but the last one was a surprice. It was from a couple that I didn't I expect to hear from, and that was a nice surprice. I also received a couple of online greeting cards. I sent more cards than I received this year, but I didn't manage to send all of the cards that I wanted to, because I didn't have enough time to write them all. I plan on sending a few New year cards instead.

Not really as my father only receives one card from a relatives who live in other country then his other sibling just call him on the phone or thru internet messenger. Receiving card is now rare now days with the influx of modern technology like emails, phone calls, Short messaging system, video conferencing, a chatting and internet messenger. So far i have receive only electronic email and e-cards from my brother, relatives and some friends with a personal messages. Though it lack personal touch it is still acceptable as the important things it is the thoughts that counts no matter what from of communication they use it is still better than no contact at all.

Hi there, It seems to be more popular to send E cards in this economy uncertain and more ever most people now get to have internet . Not only e cards, people also get the advantage on the application in the cell phone. People may just want to send some simple greetings with just texting or sms. Some picture message is rather cute and interesting . For me, I only receive ONE card this year. As for my self, I have stop sending cards few years back, just too lazy to buy cards and send them.

I don't like cards to begin with. Not unless they are really cute and thought out. I got three cards this year. this year I got two filled with scratch cards. so they were very nice to receive. I received one with stickers on it. So I can use it on my scrap booking. Those cards I will love for life.

I did received a card this last Christmas but it was from my girlfriend. I do not expect to receive cards from my male friends because I think (and they, too!) will see it pretty awkward for boys to exchange cards. But anyhow, I do love receiving cards since the last time I received one was when I was grade schooler though

I didn't receive many at all (2). I usually receive a lot more. I think this year a lot of people were more conscious of what and where they were putting holiday dollars. At the place I work at, usually all the departments send out actual cards. This year most sent out electronic (email) greetings. I missed the cards.

Truely saying, not a single card I received this year. Very sad for me I know. But this was not always, my college got over this year and so do my friends. While the othwer reason is that my ebst friend got married and now she is busy in her life forgetting me.

Nope i hardly received any cards this year. not that people don't like me, just hardly anyone bothered at college and such :P I received about 5 i think, but i'm happy with that :) Probably not because people are trying to be more green in my case, just people are finding it harder to bring themselves to write them all.

I'm not receive any cards this year. I just only get THOUSAND message(FaceBook message), SMS, and Email! Wow, It just drive me crazy that I must reply all of the message, sms, and Email. But, It's okay! I just do this because I love who care about me. Most of People in my country prefer say something with SMS, email, or message than use cards.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day! We used to get tons of cards. Now I received only a few this year. I kept waiting for them to show up in the mail day after day. I assume it is both reasons. I actually sent more this year than ever because this was my 1st child's 1st Christmas so we sent pictures to everyone.
