I have heard that vista is not user friendly so many who bought computers with vista as operating system changed to XP and when window7 was released they upgraded.Did you also do the same thing? While upgrading to windows7 does one need a more powerful machine? Will they charge while upgrading?

I changed my OS from vista to windows 7 because windows 7 is significantly faster. that means it uses less requirements than vista. If your current machine can run on vista then rest assured it can handle windows 7 as well. Why don't you try upgrading yourself? just buy the cd and turn the computer on. just make sure to do back ups of files, data and drivers for your devices.

The computer expert said that my machine can't withstand windows 7 and it needs an additional software and he has it.I don't know anything about this computer and the softwares except browsing the net.anyway thanks a lot for the comment.

i had upgraded to windows vista from windows xp but then again degraded from vista to xp. vista showed too many problems. it was buggy and had a lot of incompatibility issues with drivers and softwares. also i seriously had to turn off the UAC as it frustuated me a lot. god knows why microsoft provided the UAC with vista. better security or better headache lol

Not its not the question of user friendliness, but vista was buggy. it was unstable. even with service pack2, vista hanged a lot, and showed a lot in incompatibility issues.
I switched back to xp from vista ultimate SP2
yes you have to pay a small price to upgrade from vista to windows seven
