Do You Make Time For Yourself?

This is my time. The coffee is brewing and everyone in our home is sound asleep. I have always been an early riser. I enjoy the crispness of the morning air, the smell of my coffee. I use this time to think about my day. To organize my thoughts. I have always thought it was important to carve some time out of everyday just to be by myself. Even if it is just a few minutes. I find that it energizes me and gets me ready to face the day. So are you able to squeeze some "me time" into your day?
Coffee is ready....enjoy your day!

Hello :)
When my kids were all home, yes, I did make some time for myself each day...usually after they were tucked into bed at night. I feel it is very important and makes me still a more patient and happy person.

I wish I was an early riser! I'm the total opposite and can't pull my lazy butt out of bed in the morning (not a problem - my kids pull it out for me) :) I tend to get my "me time" late at night when the rest of the house is asleep. Then I pay for it in the morning.

Hi workingmom50,
I definitely have to have my "me" time. In fact, I do some of what you mentioned here. I have great respect for the morning quietness. 5:30 am is my body's calling hour, Monday to Monday. I love seeing another day and look forward to it's challenges.
I put the coffee on and head to the shower. There are not children to get up and get breakfast for, been there done that. After showering, it is my pray time, I believe in thanking God everyday for a new beginning and I ask for his blessing as I journey through the day. And final, before the world becomes really awake, I read a scripture for the day. Then my "me" time is over. That is until I come home to calmness and my "me" time began again.

Hi workingmom 50
When you are determine to have that peace, you find ways to make sure you get. I really do have a lot of quite me time. Right now the answer machine is off and the volume is completely down to the point I don't hear the phone ringing. Anybody I want to speak to calls my cellphone and it is on the desk right here. I find and give me what I need for me.

My time for myself usually happens at night. Around 8-9PM, just before sleeping. I spend this hour by reading, or just lying around, basically relaxing. I do not watch a lot of television nowadays. I find the news stressful so I try to avoid watching a lot about them.

I agree, we mothers need to have time for ourselves sometimes. Just like a breather.. When I get so stressed with all the things happening around me, what I do is I watch movies on my own.. what relaxes me is watching animated movies, or funny movies or quality movies.. Shopping is another thing...ohhh let me rephrase that window shopping is my favorite thing to do when I am alone... When I am with my family I never get to window shop that much because its like Im in hurry or they don't understand me.. I hate it when you go out and you see people frowning because they can't relate to you.. Well I guess that's just the way life is.. Mothers will always be mothers.

I am not able to do that every day, I am afraid, even though I would want to. I am simply way too busy for that.
But I do have some me time on a regular basis, usually once or twice a week in the evenings when everyone else has other plans and I am home alone. I love it!

Hello Workingmom. I always make sure I get some me time every day. I'm an early riser and I like to walk the dog in the park after a nice cuppa then return home and have breakfast, if I get the chance I eat it alone in the garden when the weather is good. It's important o have me time, the rest of the day is spent attending to people's needs so a little me time isn't a lot to ask for.

I never used to take anytime to myself. I felt guilty if I did. Anything I did online was to earn money. Anything I did offline was to take care of or entertain my kids. The past 6 months or so when my kids are in bed I dont do so much to earn money instead I go on facebook for hours. After the kids are in bed I just like to take that break before bed doing what I want. It causes problems with my husband who wants to spend time with me and I dont want to. My husband would go to his friends house every night to hang out and play video games while I stayed home bored and alone. He never cared how I felt. Now I learned to enjoy the freedom and I want that all the time.

I have made it a point to make time for myself everday. For the last several months especially I have been very focused on pleasing myself and making sure that I am balanced and healthy. I do my hair and nails, and take better care of my skin, I meditate, eat right, and exercise. I write and make createive projects, I read and am looking forward to spring so I can go outside and enjoy nature. I have become happier and I like it. I don't know how I ever lost the habit.

I always try to steal some time for me - between my working place and the work I'm doing here online, there's a little time left for me and I try to spend it either with myself or with my love ones(ooops this already isn't my time - it became our time - but it's a good use for it). Mostly my spare time divides in 3 ways: reading, sport and listening music(and sometimes just two - when I'm in the mood and I'm combining reading with listening to the music). Sometimes when I really make some spare time just for me(usually that's happening in the week-ends) I'll ,leave all behind(yes even the online working) and get out to the mountains to spare some time trekking or just taking a walk for fresh air(and that's going to happen very soon, now that the snow is gone).
P.S. - Thanks for the coffee - I really enjoyed it.

How ever, My time table of sleeping and awaking is not fix but flexible. But whenever i got a good morning I always generate my power by feeling the cool morning air on my skin, looking around my green environment, enjoying the happy birds and thinking about that I have all the ability to do any kind of good Job.

I used to spend the time before sleeping as 'my time'.Reviewing what had happened through the day and figure out what things to be done on the next day. It's like evaluating myself whether I've made mistakes or goodness and try to improve the next day.The point is we must try to make sure tomorrow is better than today and today is better than yesterday.Have a nice day guys....

My time is late at night. The house is quiet and peaceful and I feel like I am alone in the universe. I use this time to reflect on today and plan for tomorrow. After work & school, I have very little free time, so these late nights are mine to use (or waste) anyway I choose. Sometimes I am very productive, and sometimes I just fritter away the downtime doing nothing of consequence at all.
I like being alone with just me, which I guess is a good thing.

I always have a lot of time to myself each day, so I don't really need to make time. Especially since it's winter break for me right now, I don't have too much to do. My time is usually spent on the computer surfing the internet, MyLotting, chatting with friends, and playing some games. During school, I like to make time for myself regardless of if I have a lot of work to do or not. Even if it's just 5 minutes of time to myself, I have to have some amount of time. I can't work for too long without a moment to breathe. Other than that, complete time to myself can be rare. I can stay in my room if I wanted to be completely by myself, but it gets boring sometimes, so I like to go to the family room and kitchen to just watch some tv but there's usually always somewhere there in the same room. It is rare for me to be completely alone in the house.

Yes, as a matter of fact today is my "me" day. I have been busy with work lately that today is the only time that I had time to pamper myself. I had fine dining at an Indian restaurant with a friend. Then my favorite holiday beverage at Starbucks. I ended the day by having hair treatment for my hair. I love this day. It's a good thing we don't have work today 'coz it's a non-working holiday.

I make room/time for myself by cleaning and organizing my room. It may sounds work to you, yes it is but for me seeing my room clean and in orderly state give me peace and happiness. I like the smell of fresh laundry of my blanket, comforter and pillow cases. After cleaning I just want to sleep all day and listen to music.

I can relate to your response. Sometimes my "me time" is my cleaning time. While I am cleaning I have time to think. I also enjoy looking at the end results :)
