Are you sitting on your own waiting for the New year to start?

Well I guess I share your thoughts, but see here people tend to do too many stupid things so I don't want to open up for risk of someone's ill mistake. I rather stay put at home enjoy some ice cream, music, and a movie.

Hi Jugs, Well I am here with my hubby and my two cats, its too expensive to go anywhere so I am waiting for Big Ben and will toast to the New Year, Happy New Year hun. Tamara

I was in bed trying to go to sleep thru the MORONS setting off fireworks.

Hi Jugs, i am not just sitting, waiting for the new year to start. i am busy preparing and setting the table for our family dinner. as the clock stroke 12midnight--we all jumped and shout out loud to create some noise, banging some coins in our pockets and greeting each member of the family a happy new year. we kissed and hugged. it was fun and heart warming scene for all of us who's present at mom's house in the province! we slept at around 2am.

Yup I set here and watched teh NEw YEar come in and all the fireworks on the tv. and there was 10 whole minute of fire works they were great. Only reason I didnt go out side to watch I have a cold and the night air isnt good for that!

I am here in my room but I am not truly alone. My love lives many miles away but I feel him all around me. I am happy. I want to wish you a Happy New Year.

yea,just hanging out with my bro pretty much. it snowed earlier,and combined with the already drunk people out and ice on the road,i wasn't risking it.

Oh well you always have the myLot community to "sit" with you.^_^ I wasnt sitting alone but as always I was sitting at the dinner table eating. I remember that I had a mouthful of spaghetti when it was exactly 12midnight last year. This year, I had a mouthful of lasagna. That could be one of your New Years' resolution, not sitting here next new year,no matter what, whichever you decide or what may happen next year, I wish you luck. Do enjoy the time this year. i went out to eat but then came home and watched some movies till it was time for the new year.. every year i want to go out to a club or party but im always flat broke

I set with my family and enjoyed the Eve very much. The kids made a snowman which our wonderful neighbors came over and smashed. If you are young and enjoy going out--Go for it! I am in 'been there, done that' catagory. I have no desire to go out and wade through drunken, rude and crude people and try to have a good time.

Well for me 2009 was a bad year and couldn't wait to see the back of it so I ended up going to bed before the New Year came in, although thanks to people living in the neighbouring streets setting off fireworks I ended up staying awake watching a DVD long into the New Year.

I am not doing anything tonight either. I usually go to a movie or something. I don't really like New Years Eve. People are trying to hard to have fun, and they drink too much. I watched a movie and will watch the Times Square celebration. At midnight I'll probably make some calls. A friend of mine just had sugery yesterday. I just talked to her and she is on pain pills and sounds like she won't make it till midnight, so I guess it could be worse. I hope the new year is better, but like you, I don't think it will be.

No Jugs I was with my Daughter and we where with Family Friends and it was great I am sorry that you where alone I really am I spent it on my own last Year but to be honest it did not really bother me as such as it was not the first time, I spent a lot of them on my own when I was married so it was no big deal to me I hope you have a better year this Year I really do

My husband and I tried to stay up. We did not want to go out. But we never made it to midnight. I refuse to look back I will only look ahead. The past is dne, may it rest in peace.

I did not wait for New year. I even did not notice the change of the year. I do not care. We prepare something a little dinner last New Year. I ate a little . I was sad last New Year. I did not cry but I was sad. I tried to entertain myself watching television but I did not enjoy. I did not hate the season, I just don’t have a life during that day. Like I did not care for every people around me, I was totally lifeless.

Well it’s all over now. I stayed at home too but my family came over and we had a barbecue. I had a little too much to drink and I was in bed by 1.30 after I cleaned up. I used to go out all the time at New Year, it never lived up to expectations and it was hell trying to get home! I much rather stay home these days; not much good if you are on your own though...I hope it was not too lonely for you, been there done that...It sucks...

We went out to dinner with my mother, brother and sister-in-law, but then we went home and sat there like we were a bunch of old people instead of doing anything that was exciting. I think the reason that we've done that for the past several years is because of the fact that we have the two small children and neither my husband nor myself feels comfortable at a bar or at a party where we are expected to drink outside of our own house.
