Have you ever been on a Cruse?

This past summer my wife and I took a Cruse to Alaska. I was surprised at the experience. It always seemed to me that a Cruse was expensive and something for the rich to enjoy. When I sat down to figure it out it was about $170 a day for a 7 day cruse. This includes the port fees and taxes for each place you dock. The first thing you have to consider is this includes your room, meals and entertainment plus the travel to the different places. To do what we did and the cost it was one of our cheaper vacations. The one suggestion I would make is to check out the last minute travel deals if your schedule allows it. We met some people who paid less than we did but left within 2-3 weeks of booking the cruse.

We took 2 cruises...one to the Bahamas and one to central america. I love cruising as opposed to flying. Flying is a freakin' nightmare, especially with children.
I think cruising is the easiest way to cruise with children. Once you haul your bags to your cabin, you're done with all the hassle. Then you can take the kids to the pook, put them in the ship's daycare,or go to the buffet and stuff yourself. It's really not that expensive, since your hotel and food are all combined.
The only thing I don't like is that you only get one day or so at each port. We went to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico all in 7 days, including one day at sea. We only had 5 hours in Honduras. It's not really enough time to really get into the local culture.
I really want to take an Alaskan cruise someday. We live in Seattle, so it's easy to cruise up to alaska from here.

I liked reading about you and your wife's cruise to Alaska. I went on a trip on a training ship for one week along the River Thames when I was a student. We had to do night watches and training exercises. I would like to go on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands and South America. Most of all I wish to visit Providence Island.

We are going on our 36th cruise for Christmas this year. My family is in the northeast and last year they were suppose to come down here to Florida but the storms took care of that one. They did come down in August.
This year we are taking a 5 day cruise and will be back the day after Christmas. We are also going in February with my son and his girlfriend and another couple.
We have gone so many times and love the cruising life. We really don't care about the ports as we have been to them all.
My husband gets very good deals as sometimes we book a day before a cruise. We are retired so can go whenever we want.

My wife and I are avid cruise freaks when we can afford it. The Caribbean is still my most favourite cruising ground! We have done three 7 night cruises there usually starting from Fort Lauderdale.
