I am trying to loose some weight, but got a bit of a problem doing so.
To start off, I do not own a exercise machine or any kind, nor do I have the money at the moment to join a gym, it is too cold for a walk outside, i'll just end up freezing my nose off or getting the flu. I live in an apartment with people living below me, so I can't be jumping on the floor to do a workout. I am trying to eat a little healthier to help with the weight loss, but what kind of workout can I do when I have these problems facing me??
Any suggestions would be great....PLEASE!!!

Hello,
there are a few things you can do around the house. You can clean up or sit up(that's doesn't need to jump up and down). Always eat less to maintain your diet. a little exercise won't hurt your neighbor... so enjoy your exercise and start dieting... you will get resolve pretty soon

my best advise for you is, first look into your diet before getting sweat, if you figure it out how many calorie content of each food choices you make then think of some exercise than can burn calorie with the ratio of 2:1 meaning you burn more calorie from your exercise then replenish it with 1 from your daily food choices you eat...go to bodybuilding.com and type on search bar 'exercise guide' for exercises that suits you..hope this will help you..

that is something i got to do, stay away from fatty foods, their my weakness lol, i'm not much for junk food, i like to splurge every now and then with junk food, but it's manageable, but me and my boyfriend have been eating out a lot the past like 2 months or so, we just don't wanna cook, any we always have really bad greasy foods, really not good for either of us. But I love fruits!

Looks like you've already got some good advice. Do you have an indoors mall nearby? You could walk that a few times, or go to a big store and walk around inside it when it's too cold for outside exercise.
Also, make good use of every day things. When you sweep the floor, put your whole body into it. Make the bed the same way. Do deep bends while carrying the sheets or the broom. Stretch to dust the furniture and put things away by standing a little farther away than normal.
Make your body work as much as possible. When putting things away, don't take a whole stack from one side of the house to the other. Take a few at a time. For instance, put the washcloths away, then go back for the towels. Put socks in the drawer, then go and get the sweaters.

hi fallengurl I have the same problems too except in my case I have a roommate and we are on the second floor. walking is still
the easiest and most effective exercise you can do so bundle up and walk fast like you need to catch a bus, only a half hour or forty five minutes four or five times a week they claim will have you losing weight. another great idea, climb up and down stairs as an exercise also join the 10000 steps a day club, get a pedometer and make yourself up it as high as you can get,if you have stairs there use them as an exercise tool.At work park aways away from your job so you have to walk a little for more exercise and use stairs instead of elevators.

Does your apartment complex have any general areas you could use to do a workout video? If you have a rec-room type area with a tv/dvd player, you could probably bring a workout dvd and a mat and do it there, if you have no other equipment you can use water bottles as weights, and several telephone books as a step. Do you have stairs at your apartment complex? Go up and down the stairs.
There are several free online sites you can use that even have exercise demos - sparkpeople.com and fitday.com are two that I have used before. Another idea - if you have a mall in your area that has a walking program, you could walk inside, the only problem with this is it is generally only early before the stores open so it would depend on your work schedule whether is is doable or not. Check your community centers in town, occasionally they have a class or something free or low cost on a weekly basis.
To jumpstart, most gyms will give you a free pass for anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks, so if that's an option for you, try it out. You can also talk to a trainer and give them an idea of your goals and they can give you ideas of what you can do as far as lifestyle changes.
Check craigslist and freecycle for any listings of exercise equipment, sometimes people practically give it away - or you may find something cheap or free such as a step, dumbbells, or exercise bands. If you have a pedometer already, just wear it all day and you can keep an eye on your average level of activity/steps per day you take on a regular day. Then you can tweak your activity level accordingly.

...Hi there FallenGurl, Happy 2010. Here are a few suggestions for you that I have picked up along the way. I have a bad back so exercicing the normal way people exercise is not easy for me, so I found a new way to exercise which you can do as well if you wish. Before you get out of bed in the morning, do leg lifts, arm swings across your chest, put your bended knees together and swing them side to side. Do sit ups and any other exercises you want to incorporate, while in the bed. Get two books that you can hold comfortable in your hands and walk through your apartment, for as long as you can, swinging your arms, forward and back, as you go. Start to chew your food each time you eat, to the consistency of baby food, this helps with digestion and also helps you to lose weight over time. Try to drink eight glasses of water a day, this washes the fat away. Reduce your salt intake, lessen your sugar usage and white bread consumption. The last two sentences could help you lose ten pounds in two weeks. Good luck to you. Be patient. After a while your stomach will start to shrimk and you will crave less food. TIE (take it easy)

There cannot be a better gym than doing our daily chores, walking, dieting. When I say dieting one should skip the night meal and instead have a snack earlier. The food that we eat in the night becomes fat as we do not exercise. Try these out and see if it helps.

Hi. There is a few ways for getting lose of your weight. First and the most important is that you have to take a healthy balance food everyday. Follow the pyramid of food. Eat on time and stop eating before your stomach is full. Cereal is good to take especially oat. It can absorb at least a few cholesterol out of your body. Try to take more fruits and vegetables. By changing your everyday diet to a healthy diet might help a bit in reducing your weight. Of course it can't be denied that you have to do some exercise. Why don't you try yoga(indian style) or taichi(chinese style) of exercise..:

Hi FallenGurl,
You are very reasonable kind of person, before starting the task itself you are giving this much of reasons, we see the old grandpa's and grandma's are going to jog wearing jackets in early mornings, why can't you go then?
Stop eating high carb foods workout hardly jog around 4-5 Kms in beginning then you can extend that later onwards.
If you don't want to go out or if you are n't interested to work hard in gyms then do yoga, it is very good for health which purifies soul, mind and body where as other exercises are only for the body.

Hi FallenGurl,
Another thing you could do is to find something in your apartment that is vaguely heavy and use it for weight training instead of buying some actual weights, so you are able to do the sit ups and stuff both with and without the object in order to help build up muscle mass and tone your body, things which also come in useful to lose weight since more muscle equals more calories burnt. The walking is a good idea though despite the cold. I have actually been going out more recently because it has been so cold and people are staying inside. So far it doesn't seem to have done me harm and it can be quite enjoyable (though I could just be strange lol).
I wish you luck with your new routine and hope it brings you much future weight loss
All the best,
Dranz
