Holidays just ended and most of us had gained few pounds. Have you? I think I did. We took family picture this morning with my nephew and sister-inlaw in the studio and the changes in my weight is obvious.
Last night, I ate just noodles and fruits but later in the evening I felt hungry. Same thing I did today, I was trying to eat just fruits but I think I wouldnt last a day without eating carbohydrates.

I caught JAUNDICE 10months ago. And in Jaundice there is only cure is restrictions on diet. I was allowed to eat Fruits, Fruit Juice, Vegetables only. As the SGPT level in my body was reach up to 2380 (in normal human body it should be under 50)
I survived of Fruits - Vegetables and Glucose for 33 long days. I lost more than 20 Kgs (My weight was 93 Kg that downed to 70 Kgs.)
Currently I am perfectly healthy, but you remind me those days I survived on fruits.
Horrible time that was!!!!!!!

Hi Maria! I have honestly done a fruit and veggie diet for 3 weeks and lost like 18 lbs on it. However on the weekends I allowed myself to eat regular meals in small porportions so I did not get burned out on it and my body was still getting the occasional nutrients from other foods. Veggies have carbs in them so they will help keep you full. The beauty of fruits and veggies is you can eat a little bit more of it throughout the day because it has very low calories.
Another thing you can do is fruit and veggies with one slice of whole weat bread(1 slice a day). This will allow you to get some good carbs in. Noodles are carbs and full of starches. If you eat noodles substitue the bread with whole wheat noodles.
Exercise. Exercising will increase your weight loss significantly and quick! Just do some push ups and stuff during commercials. Also add in a 30 minute work out a day.
It is def. do able but I would not reccommend just fruit because it is full of sugars (natural, but still too much could put weight on you).

Oh I have, after the "feast" I gained few pounds for sure... Before, I've tried eating fruits the whole day, I ate apples, mangoes and oranges but felt hungry afterwards. Now my plan is to cut-down my calorie intake little by little and I want to include fruits into my diet because I believe that, it is effective in detoxification or body cleansing. The fiber and the nutrients it has is perfect for losing weight. I think carbo are still important as well as protein, maybe I will still eat food containing these two but in small servings.
Happy Lotting!

Hi Maria1081:
I don't think I'll be able to survive a fruit diet. The secret to losing weight is eating in moderation, lots of veggies and fruits and exercise. Try limiting carbs.

I tried that last holy week but I didn't last in a day and I feel so weak. Yes for sure all of us gained weight after the holidays. Right now I try to cut down my rice intake and I promise to myself that I'm going to exercise regularly. It is hard when you suddenly change your diet it much better if you do it little by little.

I think I could last a day. I love fruit so I could probably eat it hourly in order to keep myself full. Things with lots of potassium and fiber in them are usually the best to eat if you're holding back on carbs and stuff for a little while. I wouldn't ever suggest to anyone a fruit diet though. It could be incredibly bad for you. lol

Um, I really like fruits, a wide variety as well, but, to live off of them, I couldn't do it. Not because I would get bored with it but, I never feel full when I eat fruit, never. I would definitely be to hungry!

i tried doing that cleansing diet by eating fruits alone and i only lasted 3days. i was planning to do it for 2 weeks but on the third day happened to be my dad's bday and i just cant resist those delicious foods. my dad actually did it for 2 weeks eating fresh vegetables by blending them. he did it to cure his illnesses that seem to have complicated. he doesnt want to go to any physician thus chosing cleansing diet. happy mylotting maria1081

Hello maria1081 me too can't keep on going in my life without other food suppliments diet, only fruits just seems bit possible.Actually fruits are good for our health and provides us with the required vitamins and proteins for our body.Only persons who are mostly used to have only fruits can survive on it, else normal persons like us who have all kinds of food intake won't keep on only fruits. An fruit diet is an good one, even we do have it when we are fasting on our traditional days, but do feel some weekness in us, due to lack of regular food.Anyways Keep it up with your diet, Happy mylotting.

Yeah I really accept with you, even I decide to avoid carbohydrates in my food intake daily, but I am not able to do it. I consume it in some form or the other everyday and not able to maintain a diet properly at all.

I guess I would be able to survive on a Fruit diet if I wanted to. I think i would be able to last a day or two. But any longer than that, Then I would get bored of eating just fruit everyday. i do think they are good for your health still.

In my experience, I cannot last a day with fruits only. Same with you or anybody else, carbohydrates play a big part in one's source of energy and body metabolism. Fruits are more of watery and acid composition so getting hungry will be also be fast as compared to carbohydrate meals which are solid in form.
If a person wanted to reduce his weight. The best diet option for that is to lessen eating habits for carbohydrates and increase water supplement and fruits.
When a person tried to switched his diet fast by total rejecting carbohydrates food then it will give him body weakness because the body was not able to adjust in the sudden change.
Better make a small feeding program where you will still eat proper meals and slowly reducing the foods that contribute to weight gain and substituting some fruits or non-fat foods for caloric diet. With this, the body will slowly adapt to the changes.

I know I wouldn't last a day on only fruit. I love fruit, but it wouldn't satisfy me for long. I have tried a raw foods diet before and only lasted for one week. They eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and some grains. (Not raw meat). I also love cooked foods and they don't cook their vegetables or eat anything cooked. I have gained weight from the holidays, but I just need to cut down on the junk.

I think fruit alone wouldn't offer complete health. I am personally working towards a raw fruit/veggie/nuts/seeds diet. There are fruitarians out there but that's just not my thing. I really do crave veggies when I don't get them.
