Come Back With A Warrant

In this current climate that our natural freedoms are being violated under the excuse of protecting those freedoms, I have found an interesting way to send a message about what you think. From Target is a door mat that says come back with a warrant. Now yes I do understand that this will not send the government thugs running away, but there is a point to be made with Target selling this kind of doormat. With all the stories of police busting into the wrong house, ease dropping on phone conversations, and viewing peoples activities on the internet, there is now enough of a market for doormats demanding a warrant.

Apparently Target has it's finger on the pulse of the country. Too bad I didn't know about that doormat before Christmas. It would have been the perfect gift for my husband's nephew to give to his father-in-law....the Sheriff.

I like it! I might invest in one of those for myself in the near future, especially as I'm expecting at least one visit from officialdom before too long - where I live, you need a licence to own a TV capable of picking up a broadcast signal. If you don't pay for the licence, you can get fined. If you don't pay the fine, you can get a couple of weeks in jail (ironically, prisoners don't need a TV Licence). TV transmissions went over to digital in my region a couple of weeks ago, and my telly only picks up analogue, so I cancelled my TV Licence. The agency that deals with TV licensing has written to me to let me know they'll be sending someone round to check that I don't have a digital telly. Of course those guys don't actually have any powers of entry, so unless I'm in a really good mood, they'll be left out in the cold ;-)

Heck, you can get your tv over the net now anyway, just hook your computer up to a big monitor. There are litteraly thousands of streaming channels availabe out there of all sorts.......they realy send people to your house to make sure you don't have an "ilegal" tv?? for real? Psssh, I wouldn't let em in if they have no power, just tell em at the door, "nope-don't have one-bye".

I forgot to mention that one of the benefits of not getting broadcast TV at the moment is that it gives me more time to catalogue my video collection - and I've been taping stuff off air since the early eighties! TV was generally better in those days anyway.

LOL. Love it. Too bad they are all sold out.
I think this shows that the main stream retailers realize there is a BIG market in these kinds of items. Which means the "tea party movement" and others like them are not soo "fringe" or "the small minority". Especially for Target to be carrying it. Too bad I did not know about this at christmas...it would have made great gifts for some of my friends.

I would love one of those mats. We had a cop at our door the one time asking if someone lived here. We had no idea who the cop was talking about, and then he is asking if he can come in. When we told him no, he said he was going to arrest us if we did not let him in. Then my mom came out, said do you have a warrant? He said no, and she slammed the door in his face. It was a rather funny moment. Weird, but funny.

Legally, you don't even have to answer the door if they don't have a warrant.

I totally want one of those mats! I'm a libertarian though, so i guess it's to be expected. I just wonder why I didn't see these earlier on, what with the patriot act and all.

Sorry folks I went to Target.com and they are out of stock.
This is a powerful statement by Target - not a conservative store - and their shoppers who tend to be more liberal. I say this based on causes that the stores support. When I tried to get support for the families of troops serving overseas. I was told that this did not fit their philosophy.
Considering this, for Target to offer such a thing is very interesting.

The government, particularly the police, don't spy on your phone calls. They watch the numbers certain numbers call. If its suspicious as far as terrorism, its watched. No one gives a crap what YOU are talking about. Not to mention you do not have a right to privacy as long as your real rights are not interfered with by the invasion.

I don't buy from Target, they support Glenn Beck. This sounds like something that Beck will be selling for his partners in stupidity.
