WHen your whole family gets together. Maybe for a family reunion or maybe your aunts, uncles, grandparents, and parents just gather every once in awhile. Anyways when your family gets together what do they normally do? Does your family just sit around and talk and catch up to see how everyone is doing? Does your family play cards or board games? Does your family get together and drink and have a little "party" ? How often does your family get together and what do you guys do?

Well we usually get together during holidays or birthday...so whenever were together, its either we go out to amusement park's, specially if the kids requested for it. Or we just stay at home, eat and sing along.

Well now, that depends. My husband's family has a family reunion every couple of years. They rent a hall, hire a DJ, drink and dance. Their family get togethers almost ALWAYS consist of playing cards... and drinking. Only my immediate family gets together (siblings, nieces & nephews and their spouses). We don't get together with aunts and uncles anymore because they are so far away. We don't play cards but we do play a game that consists of someone winning a prize. This Christmas we played a homemade version of Bingo where the numbers were replaced by the prizes that were in the Christmas stocking that the winner got. But we had to get 3 lines across (1, 3, and 5 - they called it a layer cake ). We like to try and come up with different ideas for games where all age groups can participate. There are a couple of heavy drinkers in this group too. I don't like the drinking aspect of get togethers. I feel you can have fun without getting smashed. My husband and girls and I like to play board games at home. We get a new game every Christmas. This year's game was "Last Word". Not as easy as Ellen Degeneres makes it sound. Last year it was "What's Your's Like" and the year before "Apples to Apples". All great, fun games.

Every year on New's Year Eve, All families converge at my paternal grandparents' house. We sit and catch up with each other on family events and stuff. Like last week, we all came together, ordered Home Run Inn pizza and talked about movies, anime etc. Also that same night, my parents, my husband and I, and my siblings spend time with my aunt(mom's sister). She made a small spread of food and we had cocktails and mocktails for ones that do not drink. We listened to the local smooth jazz station. Both visits were really an enjoyable way to ring in the new year.

Oh wow that sounds great. I love getting together with my family every once and awhile. Sounds like it was a peaceful get together. :) And yes being around family is always a great way to welcome the new year. We normally go out, but this year we spent time with both families and our kids the whole day :)

Hi! We celebrate our family reunion every January first and I'm always very happy every time I see my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I think it's very important to have a family reunion to get to know what's happening to every member of the family.
