Should you go for style or funcitonin a home?

Obviously in the perfect world you'd want to go for style and function at the same time, but in most cases this doesn't seem to be possible. So in your opinion, is it more important to have a functional home or a pretty one?

I don't like my living place too complicated,so functional home is prior to pretty one ,but green plants is indispensable.

Well, there are alot of things that I look for when looking for a new place. The style and the lay out of the place is always a plus but it has to be "fit" for my family. That is way more important.
