How do you determine who to accept as a friend here on Mylot?

No, I dont accept all requests. I check things like common interests; discussions started; current number of friends (if they already have hundreds I dont think they need me); is their profile page full of referral links - I'm not here to get spammed... I'm ashamed to say that I still have friend requests "pending" because I feel mean hitting deny but cant really see any reason why the request has been issued. I seem to get so many from a particular category of myLotter with whom I have absolutely nothing in common. I accept straightaway the people with whom I have had regular interaction.

That's funny you say that, I too have requests that I haven't decided to accept or not! However, the requests I have are from people that haven't responded to my discussions and ones that haven't started any that I have responded to, that makes me think they just randomly picked me, maybe I shouldn't feel bad?

Hi 34momma. I only accept if they are active as well. I started a new way of Mylotting where whenever I sign on the first thing I do is go through my friends lists and answer a few of their discussions first. Because I select only those who have similar interests and are active it is easy to find good discussions that weren't started 2 years ago!

I eccept all requests, as i like having friends. I have to so all i have eccepted so far, really sounds like great people and they sure as hell can be funny at times. I believe to give everyone a chance, whether you know them or not. It is only my opinion, you still have to decide for yourself how to handle this situation. Just go with your feelings, that is normally the easiest.

Well if your getting a friend request then more than likely they either responded to one of your discussions or one of your comments on their discussion, so they are interested in your opinions. So far I have accepted all my friend requests because the more people who are on your friends list the more people see your discussion posts immediately if you have your notifications turned on. The more people that see your discussions sooner rather than later, the more responses your likely to get.
