This morning in my locality there is snow on the ground. My dog Secret jumped about in it. He was so very playful. Maybe he remembers it from when he was a puppy. Before we moved we lived in an area that got deep snow in the winter. My other dog, Magic, doesn't like the snow. She didn't wish to stand in the snow to eat so I had to clear a space free of snow for her feet?
Has you dog seen snow?
If so how did he or she react?

The blizzard we had around Christmas gave us so much snow that if my dog tried to go across the yard, he'd disappear in a drift. He tried, but he kept sinking into the mounds of snow. So he started going around it where he could. However, the snow has disappeared enough that the ground is just covered with less than an inch. So now he likes to run around and leave little paw prints in the yard. He's so cute!

I have a husky/shepherd mix and he loves playing in the snow, when I take him out he doesn't want to come in. I also have an Australian shepherd and he goes out and tries to get back in as soon as possible. I think he's in a hurry because his belly drags through the snow.

Hello Maximax,
In the place i live, we don' t really have winter, i mean it can get cold here, but it never snows, that's why some rich people from our area spemd thousands of dollar just to fly somewhere has snow to see the snow fall.
But my dog likes waves, he like chasing around the waves, he is so cut.

My dog has never seen snow and never will, not where I live. My 16 year old daughter has never seen snow.
There is another My Lot member who sometimes writes about his dog loving the snow. Apparently he (a beagle) goes crazy, frolicking around it in. I would love to see a dog in action in the snow.

My dog, Roxy, is an Alaskan Malamute. She is a snow dog like a Huskey and loves being outside in the snow. She stays outside and absolutely hates being inside. It's so funny to watch her outside in the snow because she just prances around like a reindeer or something. Where I live though, we don't see much snow, so she really enjoys it when it does come. My other dog, Kingston, is a Chocolate Lab/Pointer mix and he stays inside. He's the total opposite of Roxy. He doesn't care much for the snow. He sinks in it and acts like he has no clue what to do in the snow. The past snow we had, my husband and I took Kingston out to play wit hRoxy and he was fine for about 15 minutes and then he was ready to go in because she kept pouncing on him in the snow. lol

One of my dogs hates the coldness of it but, my other two love the snow and how fluffy and high up it is as they can bounce around it like puppies!! They love chasing each other in it and it is so good to watch them together!

Dogs like things that excite them. Water , snow people etc. If they had a bad experience they tend to remember it, bad day at the groomers, bad incosiderate neighbors or people walking by. My dogs luv the outdoors spring or any season.

I hate the same thing with my two dogs. One loves it the more he gets to roll around in it the better. The other dog we have hates it, shes more of the princess type doesnt like to get her feet wet and hates rain and snow. I dont understand why there would be such a difference our dogs are the same breed but they totally different personalities. My one dog i have to make her go out to go potty and then shes standing at the door wanting right back in, while the other i have to wait and wait to get back in from snow.

My dog Brady used to jump in it like a puppy all the way up until the year he passed. We had him for 15 years. It was so cute, and he was black so he'd look up with a snowy nose. I love when dogs get all frisky in the snow.

I hear what you mean, I just got a new pit bull puppy she is only nine weeks old. she don't mind the snow which it wasn't too cold when I first got her so we were able to go out a few times, but now it is really cold outside, like 20 and under. very sucky weather and it seems like this winter is the worst. so for now we just stay in and wait for the weather to get better.

We had snow two weeks before Christmas this year. Our dogs loved it and had a blast playing chase in the snow. In fact, I have a picture of them clowning around in the snow that I will attach here.
We are having some very cold weather here with lows in the 20's and even supposed to dip into the teens this weekend. I'm ready for spring, how about you?

My dog, Sunshine (miniature schnauzer - see pic below), likes the snow for the most part. We will throw a snowball and tell him to go get the ball. He thinks it is a real ball and will try to catch it but then, of course, it will break apart and he can't figure out where in the heck it went. It is pretty amusing to watch him. :)

Our dogs are a black and yellow lab. They both love the snow for a second. And then their paws get cold. There is a lot of snow out there but it is under 5 degrees so they get cold fast. Yes even dogs get cold hehe.

Our Lab gets so excited when she sees snow. She sits at our big front window and whines until we let her out. Then it is all she can do to jump and catch the snowflakes. We have problems getting her to come back in the house as all she wants to do is roll, jump, and burrow through it.
On the other hand our hound hates it. Will not go out if it is coming down at all and when it is on the ground goes out long enough to go potty and that's it. When we do get him out and the snow is falling he hides under our trampoline until we pull him out!

Nice to hear that yr dog enjoyed playing in the snow. In our part of country it does not snow, but the winter this year is terrible and my dog is alway going deep in the quilt. Even at night, he does not move out of the quilt to go for toilet.

Delilah, my little dog hates the snow. She refuses to get off the poarch, so I have to put a puppy pad on the poarch for her to go potty. Bunny, my hound, on the other hand lives the snow. She will jump around and run around, pushing the snow with her nose. During the last snow we had neither one was real interested in staying outside for any length of time so we let them both stay in the house.
