Have you ever cooked or do you cook for your family? If you do, how would you rate yourself as a cook?
I cook for my family and I rate myself as an average cook basing from the way my family accepts my cooking. I used to love cooking but I am always working now so I haven't time now to cook much.
Well, I wish you could share me your rating as a cook.

i come from a big family where everybody loves to eat. cooking is simply a must when we have family gatherings especially with my 13 nephews and nieces on board. it would be really very expensive if we always eat out whenever we are all together, all 28 of us. hehehe
as a cook, i'd say i'm an average one. though most of the adults in our family knows how to cook, we have different specialties. so when we are all together, we help each other out in cooking. one of my sisters and one of my brothers-in-law are great cooks. compared to them, i really am just average. but if the kids are to judge what i serve them... i'd simply get a higher rating coz i am mostly in charge of the kids' food (example is pasta and desserts). hehe

Hi Masmasika,,I rate myself an excellent cook as much as I hate to sound conceited. I have had the advantage of going to culinary school so I guess I have an unfair advantage. I cook 7 days a week and am working on my own cook book which will probably never go to print but its fun just the same..I am a firm believer that anyone can learn to cook, now baking, thats another story. I can't bake my way out of a paper bag and thats no joke..While cooking is not a science, many a mistake has been covered up and even turned into something even better while baking, well lets just say, don't make a mistake, unless you want your goods to turn out like mine,,disterious.. Rating yourself is not important, its cooking with fresh ingredients and a lot of love that makes a good cook..

I am one of the worst cooks in the world. No, correct that...I am merely someone who very rarely cooks. I have three specialites - frozen, microwaved, and take-out, but other than that I am pretty much a dismal failure in the kitchen.
It is not that I cannot cook, it is more that I rarely cook. I live alone, don't eat overly much, and have never enjoyed an intimate relationship with food. I don't eat sweets at all, so baking is out as well. I can get by and eat very healthy with fresh fruits and vegetables, and I also like juices and smoothies.
I just don't actually cook very often, never had to, and don't really want to.
