Hi, I like fresh basil. I put basil in my pasta and salad dishes. I also use it in grilling some fish. I use it to flavor sauces too. I buy fresh basil from the farmer's market. I tried planting basil on a flower pot so it's just within my reach but after some time I just buy in the market when I need to use it.

I love basil too and every year I prepare pesto and freeze it so that I can have it the year around. The other herb I use daily is oregano, dried and fresh. Fortunatly I have oregano at home but basil is a plant that has it´s full life cycle in one year. But although fresh basil has other uses, I can still do many things with the frozen produce. A minestrone is also out of this world with a tablespood of pesto added to the pot. Take care!

I like dill. I don't use it often, because I don't often think of seasonings, but it is my favourite.

I'm a big basil fan too, not just because I like the taste, but because it's fun to grow in the garden. So far, I've used it for pesto, fried rice, salad and grilled chicken. Yummy!

Hi green Welcome to mylot In almost homes of hindus here in india you can see basil plants in the court yard, basil (TULSI)is considered as holy plant, they are worshiiped by us as a goddess , we light lamps and insense sticks near it every morning and evening; the leaves have wonderful medicinal property.. We don't use tulsi in cooking normally to enhance flavor!! Incidentally today we are observing a festival that symbolises marriage of goddess Tulsi with god Vishnu.. Thank you so much for this discussion. Professor. . Cheers have a great day ahead. God bless you. Welcome always.
