Can you get gout from a sprained ankle?

I am 19, male, 200lbs, and Im wondering if this occurs or not. I sprained my ankle a month ago and the injured ankle still has some swelling. How long does it take for a sprain to recover fully? I think it might be gout.

cianoy Hi! I don't believe it will cause gout. HOWEVER, if you have gout already, a sprain can trigger an attack.

cianoy Avoid red meat, nuts and alcohol. Drink lots of water, eat lots of bananas, cherries, berries, apples and citrus fruits. Oh and don't forget the veggies!

cianoy I've heard that oregano is used for cough, but I've never tried it as a juice. If it's hard to drink it, why not add it to pizza instead? ;-) I'm sure that will get a lot more positive reviews.

I actually saw an oregano plant this weekend. It was like 15 dollars though. I wondered after I left if it was just ornamental? Is that possible? I wouldn't mind buying it if I can actually use it! Do you know of any such thing?

cianoy Hi there! Maybe it was $1.50. Herbs here are sold for about $0.90 so it seems to be the right range. The suggestion of just getting a cutting from someone else that has oregano is also a good idea. Anyone here tried propagating oregano plants?

cianoy Eat a lot of vegetables, bananas, cherries, strawberries, alkaline water, apples and potatoes. Avoid red meat, fat and beans. That should be a good start.

cianoy Whenever I have a gout attack, I eat about 6-8 bananas per day and I drink more than the normal 8 glasses of alkaline water. High potassium and hydration is the key.
