What is Difficult? Teaching or Learning!

Some students say that learning is a very difficult job but the teaching is very easy because a teacher teaches only one subject again and again and a student learn many different subjects at a time. Moreover a teacher teaches a same subject again and again but a student learns a new lesson every time. But the teachers say that teaching is difficult because it needs knowledge and confidence.

They are both difficult. You have to reach your students to get them to learn. You have to come up with a way that is fun, but at the same time educational that will get your students to pay attention. You have to figure out how to keep your cool when students decide to bad mouth you.
A student has to memorize facts everyday of their lives. They get homework. They are expected to do a lot, and be respectful, and learn.
Both are hard. There is no easy position.

Teaching is more difficult than the learning. While teaching, you have to attract all the listeners to the subject. You have to noticed the duration and the process so that it remains as an interesting topic. Stereotype teaching makes the subject harder to the student. Most of all everyone should know : 'Every weak teacher makes a weaker teacher'.

Friend, your comment "a person learns a lot after becoming a teacher." itself support my comment. 'Every weak teacher makes a weaker teacher' - this is an idiom and this idiom for those students who want to be a teacher. This idiom underlines that you have to fight hard to gather knowledge, so that in future, you can teach more easily and effectively.

If this is for those students who want to become teacher then it is right.

Another good analysis about teaching. But I don't agree with you that "Every weak teacher makes a weaker teacher." Because a person learns a lot after becoming a teacher. So it depends mostly upon a teacher himself/herself to become good/weak teacher.

Both are difficult in their own ways, but the more heavier responsibility in my opinion would be teaching. That's because to teach someone and to make someone understand is not easy and there needs to be some kind of formulated training before one can do it effectively. Never easy, but can be done..

Hi, iam!
I've been teaching for 42 years, and I love it, but it is increasingly difficult as state and federal regulations force us to be so regimented that the creativity and response to students' particular needs is disappearing.
I think your best answer, though, is a very individual thing. I would happily be a student forever if there were a way to get the bills paid while doing it! My love of learning is part of the reason I love teaching - my students teach me all sorts of new things all the time!
Both learning and teaching are difficult, but if they are in you, they are both full of great joy!

I say both are difficult. Teaching requires patience. Even though they seem to teach only one subject every time, the challenge lies in making your students understand what you are teaching. Learning is a scary, fun and difficult process. I wont explain more about learning for I know each of us has a mouthful of experience when it comes to learning. By learning I mean, it's either within or outside the school.

Hi iamurfriend, it's interesting. Above all, we should confess that a teacher should be a student first, then under some specific training be a teacher, teaching after learning. So what's more difficult, teaching and learning.
In another words, some one can't teach one subject well if him didn't learn the subject well, and a teacher always explain more about his subject depend on his comprehension, that derive from a teacher's knowledge and experience.
Finally, there is an issue about attitude. We seldom see a teacher lack of positive attitude to teach, but we have realizations about many spoiled students who haven't enough motivations to learn, so leaning is difficult just a excuse for them.

Actually both are difficult if someone does not want to do. If a student does not want to study then learning is much much difficult and if a teacher is a teacher by force and does not have interest in teaching then again it is much much difficult.

Teaching is not an easy job and that is sure.Teachers may have to teach the same things again and again, still they also have to manage the students and also see that they grasp the subject or else they have to explain the whole thing and more than anything there will also be notorious students who has to be controlled by teachers only and hence teachers job is far more difficult than learning

you can teach what you have learned and what your talent or gift is. this would make teaching easier. the problem with some teaching is you know your subject but can't get it across to someone else. this would make teaching not good in teaching others.. learning is a lifelong process. we learn what we are interested in. . learning is lessons throughout life. in school, we learn subjects that we need to take. we may not like them all. we have to try to learn anyway to pass our subjects to move forward. try to make the best of learning as much as you can. you will be the better for it.

I guess both of the two is difficult. Teaching is difficult because it is your responsibility and duty to nurture and nourish a students mind by bringing the best in them. If your students fail and it seems don't learn anything from you then that's already a minus to your capabilities as a good teacher. And it is already lowering your confidence. So I can very well say that teaching is a difficult job.
As for the students it is also hard because you have to absorb all the knowledge in just a short span of time. Then different subjects differ in in needs and priorities. Then between the two the teaching job I think is the hardest.

hi there, both can be difficult and at the same time easy, depending upon the person who will perceive this matter of discussion, being a learner is the most interesting and exciting part of life, this is where we learn many things in order for us to survive in this so called planet. Teaching, is one of the most fun but difficult job in the planet, this is where people do their very best to produce contributory individuals in the society in the near future. Teachers not only teach one subject, especially when learners are already in the college level.
One mistake of a teacher can lead to a not so good future of an individual and much worse society's future.
Learning is really fun , it is not difficult, what will happen to us if we will not learn our way on this planet? What will happen to us if we do not even know how to distinguish the right and the wrong? And what will happen to us if we do not even know what is dangerous and what is safe. Learning is not only in schools but are also in everything that we do in life, every second counts and we are always in the process of learning, even if we are only watching televisions.
We also learn when we play online games and other activities that we love to do, now is learning difficult on those aspects?
Teaching is fun and exciting, especially when the teacher loves his/her job. Teaching can be a hell of a dream job especially when we have the heart and the passion for it. Will that be hard for people who love the teaching job?
Anyway, no matter what people perceive in this matter, what important is that, people should know that teachers and learners are a hell of a team, they should work together in order to gain a very good result. Teacher is not a mere authority or officer that should be feared, instead they should be loved and follow as the leader of the team, teachers should also learn how to listen and compromise with their students. Learners are not children who are needed to be controlled and commanded, instead learners need to be guided and leaded properly.
If both will love being on their position and if both will do their thing, then everything will be fine and will have the best result of their life, and that is reaching their dreams. That's all and have a great day!

Actually education, for me, is a never-ending cycle or process of teaching and learning. You learn while you teach and while you're teaching, you're also actually learning.
Every human being has a different level of learning and teaching. For slow learners, possible reasons may be that they really are 'slow to get' or the teacher is just too fast. And also same with the opposite. What I think is that it is not really the question, "which is more difficult?" but rather, "How is your level of learning/teaching?".

Learning is easier then teaching. I was taking some weekend classes for MCA student and it was my first experience in the classroom. student started asking questions which were off track, not on the topic I was speaking. It was difficult for me to get them back to the topic. Finally I could manage to prepare the PPT and prepare well before I go to the class.
I loved all my the students from that class who were almost at my age :)

_i think teaching is more difficult because I am a student and if I want to learn or study, I do it but if I don't like to study then I do not study my lessons.
_but for the teacher, whether she likes it or not, she has to teach because it her duty.

So you want to say that teaching is difficult because a teacher is teacher due to her/his job. And she/he has no option excpt teaching. But learning is easy because student has an option that he/she wants to study or not.
But my friend my question is in the case when you are doing learning or teaching at your own choice.

i definitely say that teaching is a lot harder than learning at least for me because i can absorb things like a sponge yet to turn around and teach someone else no matter how good i am at that subject is definitely hard because of course everybody learns a different way some of us are visual learners some learn by audio and some learn just by hands on experience.
