What is the actual meaning of LOL Word? / myLot

Anyone here can tell me what the word "lol" meanings? as you know in my country region (asia) this word are really uncommon and we always see this word in the global discussion like MyLot or Another Global Forum. Please give some detailed information for me:) regard

LOL~ i came across a research saying that the average usage of 'lol,lmao,rofl.. etc' on the internet is 108 time per person per day. this is a scary statistic

I was also looking to find the real meaning on lol so I made a search and found out that it is interpreted worldwide as "lots of laugh." In our place, it has a negative meaning but of course, we are in this international site. I don't usually use that letters. I know that when you continue to be part of discussion site like mylot, you will be used to see those three letters.

lol is short fo 'laughing out loud' it is one of internet slang commonly used, it was used historically on usenet but is now widely use in other forms of computer-mediated comm and even face-to-face comm like lmao (laughing my a*ss off) and rotfl (rolling of the floor laughing) and so on..

I know that LOL stands for Laughing Out Loud... LOL :) Happy mylotting to you indonesiain. Sometimes Some abbreviated words are also unfamiliar to me. I'm curious where did they learned it.
